yeah..now they tell me, but i transplanted them into 5 gallon buckets today so hopefully they'll start to take off:watch: I've put them 16/8 under 175 mh but I'm supposed to be getting a bigger light here soon :lamp: , most of them are on their 3 set of symetrical nodes so were not quite ready just yet. I'm slowly learning patience :racer: PS: I'm a chickie, not a buddy babe! (lol)

cant chicks be called buddies then?no???ok chickie it is;)

and i aint sure if that 16/8 is a typo:rolleyes: if not then i would change it to 18/6;) 18/6 is the minimum amount of light needed to keep a plant vegging...

crankyIs 8 hrs of darkness too much? I worry about lighting up my side yard which is where the "tool shed/ grow room is located. We're moving at the end of the month and moving the operation into the basement of the new place. What watt MH should I have them under? I've got a 400 hps and a 175 mh. I'm trying to squeeze as much light in til it starts getting dark outside and as soon as dawn breaks in the AM.

ok I've been gone but here are pictures of one of my bagseed babies and my biggest clone (had a little lighting issue:shrug: ) Moving tomorrow so I've just been kinda letting them chill in veg. boring. 5 more to transplant into a happier home just been so busy packing! :mmmm: oh yeah and driving down the freeway...

indeed they do look good :D

as for your lighting ? you have a few options...

MH for veg and HPS for flower

MH for veg and both for flower

just HPS for veg and flower

and so on:rolleyes:

all work good and i have tested many ways and think a mixed spectrum in veg and a good HPS (http://www.eyehortilux.com/superhps.html) in flower works the best.... for me anyways....

yeas coming along nicley;)

a plant does not need to be in 12/12 (flowering) to show PRE flowers.most strains will show their preflowers during the first 3-5 weeks of its life no mater what cycle there under;)

all the best

they're under 400 hps and a 175 mh, I just got a 1000 mh this am but need to get it hooked up when BF has time :electric: what do you suggest LdyL? I trust your opinion.

Cranky
05-08-2006, 02:28 AM
whats the temps in the cabs?

are you feeding them?

what soil are they in?

ph?

rh?

the 400w on its own is enough for now like.

we need more info to give ya decent advice.

what do you suggest LdyL? I trust your opinion.
whats up with the rest of us lol?must be a girly thing:D

no offense Cranky, I just know the LdyL from elsewhere, I will get all thhat info though for the rest of you, any help really is appreciated! Once I get the kiddies off to school, I'll get all technical;) See we're supposed to be moving this month (waiting on the landlord ) so right now they are not in optimal conditions. Temp 65-75 a fan blowing on them 24/7 16/8 for light, 5 gallon buckets with Miracle grow( I know, iknow) soil and an OTC fertalizer that I add to the water that I give them every 3 days it seems. Once we move we will be able to devote the basement to there happiness. I'm just trying to keep them in veg until then. But it would be nice if they were ready to flower when we move. I'm already 5 weeks behind!!!! Thanks Cranky, sorry if I was "cranky"

thanks Cranky, I'm going to add an hour on both ends today now that its staying light out later. Don't want the shed to glow if you know what I mean. Why do you suppose all the cats in the neighborhood hang out on top????? Hmmmm.....

say chickie,

gonna ramble a bit in here :D

whats your night time temps in the shed?

how far away is the light?

MG soil will work.....you just proved it ;)

2 common reason ya plant might droop is over or under water....

small plants in a 5 gallon bucket can be over watered real easy...in the pic it kinda looks like your water'n all the soil in there on the small one?

if roots never have to search out water they wont grow and neither will the plant. (to a point)

your plants dont look all that bad really and i think when ya get moved and setup a growroom for them they will take right off for yas.....

good luck on ya move..... just did that myself not long ago

grow on sis

Well things aren't going as good as I'd hoped. I've got a 1000 mh that we just hooked up, that didn't get the timer tied back in and we had some uh..lighting issues. Needless to say, we've got "balls" popping out everywhere! Oh and did I mention...they started to bud cause I didn't get my lights on 18/6 til the other day. I'm about ready to yank them all up and say *#@** it! on the bright side at least I know of three females for sure, heres the biggest one (I was hoping this one was a girl)

very inspirational, cranky.

There was probably nothing you could do about those males from the beginning Hampster, they either are or they aren't. Whatcha think of the 1000mh? Seem much brighter than the HPS? - noseybody over here.

Anyhow don't give up cause you got this far, and you have females. You got a great new light and a bit more knowlege so everything should chill from here. :P

good luck!

05-12-2006, 04:25 PM
Thanks guys, I was just feeling a little sorry for myself. I probably needed a reality check anyways, 16 plants is kinda too much for me to deal with anyways. I don't know why I thought this would be easy but I will grow on. Now if I could just get two or three more females....:crazydan:

MC Hampster
05-16-2006, 08:59 PM
My camera broke but heres the latest update...4 females for sure (two are in flower, oops) and possibly one other female, I'm pretty sure the other one is a male. Everything got all screwy when I had the "light timer issue". Oh...the frankenstein clones are FINALLY (after 3 mo.) starting to take off and look normal. Its like my "Little Grow Room of Horrors" out there. Oh well if you knew me, you'd expect nothing else! :trust: I'm just waiting for alternating nodes so I can just shove them into 12/12 and start over with clones. Grrrrrrrr!

LdyLunatic
05-17-2006, 01:05 PM
it will all work itself out hun ;) you just need to make one good mum and clone for sure :)

MC Hampster
05-17-2006, 04:38 PM
ok...I've got the "lighting issue" all worked out, so heres how it stands. 6 females and 5 clones all under 18/6 (only one started to flower, we'll see). So I'm thinking I'm just going to continue to veg til we move at the end of the month. Here's my biggest lady, my "poofy" mutant and my "whoops I didn't want you to flower yet" plant. Thanks for all the encouragement everyone, now that the whole "male" thing is over...we're moving foward again!:watch: Hey...I'm getting used to the strange and unusual.

MC Hampster

funny you should say that CB cause I was pretty sure thats what these seeds are.. I bought a lot of Bubblegum last summer and seeing as I never save seeds unless I have good reason to, I was already thinking these might be BG. Hmmmm...hope so!

well heres the latest update...these girls have a mind of their own it seems because one by one they're starting to flower under 18/6....sooo, tomorrow I'm going to grab some clones off the big one that is just starting to show signs of flowering and put them on 12/12. at least I'll be smoking sooner than I thought I would be. Maybe on my 3rd go around I'll get it right. :confused

ok they're officially in "flower", took 16 clones off the two that hadn't started yet (dropped the big one on her head) so the journey continues....:watch: if that doesn't just cut to the heart...I fixed her and she's happy again. What the hell do I have to do to kill them anyhow?

05-29-2006, 09:38 PM
ok I'm a week into flowering now so we'll see what happens. Everyone is coming along quite nicely, even though they're alittle smaller than i'd of liked. Heres the latest pics. :crazydan: These are from the 24 thru the 27th, I'll update tomorrow or so

Nice looking plants. What do you prefer to work with, clones or seeds? I'm trying to figure out what I'm gonna keep in my garden.
