Samu Honkanen, the chairman of the Satakunta section of the Left Youth
of Finland on Tuesday recused himself after police discovered a cannabis
garden and equipment used to manufacture narcotics in his home.
Mr Honkanen and two others living in the dwelling are suspected of drug
offences. Among the suspects is Niina Siitonen, the vice chairman of the
Left Alliance's Pori organisation and a parliamentary aide.
Mr Honkanen and Ms Siitonen told the Finnish News Agency (STT) they had
not participated in the use or cultivation of hashish.
