Two men dead, two wounded following early morning gun battle

POLK COUNTY -- Two people are in jail, two are in the hospital, and two more are dead in Polk County following an early morning gun battle in Polk County.
It happened around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, about 10 miles east of Mena off Highway 8 East near the town of Board Camp. Officers said four Henryetta, Oklahoma men pulled up to the driveway of Bradley Webster, 40, intending to rob his home. The planned invasion took an unexpected and deadly twist.
"Two men pulled up to a house in Board Camp and said they were out of gas and one was shot," said Sheriff Mike Oglesby.
Deputies arrived on the scene and found a man dead at the front doors of the home, which had once been a factory.
"Then they looked out the driveway here behind us and another subject lay out in the driveway had apparently been shot and they both appeared to be dead," said Oglesby.
The sheriff's office was notified that another man had been admitted to the Mena Medical Center with a gunshot wound.
Investigators believe the four men drove up to Webster’s house and the homeowner started a gun fight, killing two and wounding another.
"This is probably one of the quietest parts of Polk County, Arkansas. We usually don't have many problems," said Oglesby.
Oglesby says the motive for the shootings became very clear after searching the home, however.
"We found a major hydrophonic marijuana growing operation in the house," said Oglesby. Authorities stumbled upon 500 marijuana plants growing in the basement worth more than $500,000 in cash.
"For a marijuana operation, this is a major operation," said Oglesby.
Webster and one of the suspects, Waylon Null, 18, are in the hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds. Webster was shot in the abdomen. Null was shot in the face. They are both under police supervision in Little Rock hospitals and are facing multiple charges.
Webster's wife Amy, 19, and their 7-month-old baby were in the home at the time of the shoot out. Amy was arrested and sent to the Polk County Jail. Preston Edmonson, 18, the only suspect who was not injured in the shoot out was sent to jail as well.

what gets me is the plants they were bringing out were in 4 inch rockwool cubes and only about 12 to 18 inchs tall and still in veg stage.. there was nothing found other than the plants and they were not worth stealing.. "worth more than $500,000 in cash" what a joke..

well they are not charging the home owner with any of the deaths.. they said he was just defending his property.. he will be charged for growing and not having a permit for the machine gun he used.
