hmmm...a new forum....
how to break it in........
how about some tropical fun?
this is a bunch of pics from the recent layne family outing to kauai, hawaii.
known as the garden island, kauai is home of some of the most beautiful scenery in all of hawaii. from tropical waterfalls (remember the opening scene on fantasy island?), to the grand canyon-ish feel of waimea, to the awesome beaches, it is breathtaking. With an average of over 472 inches or 39 feet (12 meters) of precipitation each year, Mt. Waialeale on Hawaii's Kauai Island is the rainiest and wettest spot on the planet.
most of the island is accessible only by hiking, helicopter, or boat.
we decided to stick to the places that were the easiest to get to (my mom doesn't really hike :) ).
this was most of our 1st time on to hawaii (mom had been before). i had seen pics before, but i was totally floored.

here are some of the photos i took.....
enjoy.
peace-

this is wailua falls, and opaekaa falls. wailua falls was the opening shot on fantasy island (if ya remember bad 70's tv). normally 2 tiered, the recent heavy rains made it one big monster.

and of course, the all important smoke report.
a nice hawaiian bud. fruity, stony, indica.
the taste was superb, without the slightest hint of chem ferts. smooth and fruity, it went down easy, stayed down easy, and left a pleasing aftertaste of mango-ish berry, and something i can't quite put my finger on.
the stone hit a few minutes into the doobie.
it was a tickle at the base of the neck, which traveled down the back at the same time that it crept over the head and into the eyeballs. it was a definate body high, and was best used at night, after a long day of driving everyone around the island.
relaxing in the hot tub under the stars, and with a lightning storm off in the distance, i lit my first joint.
a few hits into it, the water felt unreal. sipping a frosty concoction made with coconut, pineapple, and crushed strawberries (yet a virgin drink. i wanted to feel only the smoke.), the taste from the drink and the weed mixed together was magic. it will not soon or easily be forgotten.
i could have melted into that hot tub. i was more relaxed than i can remember being in a long time.
i had puffed once during the day (the day we went to the luau, of course. :eat:), and i felt it took a bit out of the experience of sightseeing with my family, so i stuck to nights in the hot tub, on the beach at sunset, on the balcony watching far off lightning, or just sitting under a tree in the night rain.
my morning afters were perfect. up by 7 or 8 am (long before mom, sis, or her kids), and feeling like a million bucks. not the slightest hint of the weed hangover i sometimes get from an indica......the kind that has me getting up around 10am and needing to sit and have coffee for a half an hour before i can get motivated (i really do smoke a lot of grass....). i had my coffee on the beach at times, but spent most mornings having coffee and taking pics of the birds off the back patio (i love birds).
all in all, it was an amazing smoke. i'm sure that the environment made it seem all that much better, but i say it was awesome.
that's my story and i'm sticking to it. a solid A+ for this stuff.
:D
