the pics explain it the roots are brownish yellow, even a blackish patch in there:eek: . but the canope is okay except for a a few leaves that turned a real light green and softend up and curled like.

840ppm on HOG, 850ppm on OGRE pH is like 5.0 i think?

the plant pics are under floro lighting the root pics are incondesent, i can re-take the pics if it would help.

black is not good

perhapes it's time to flush for a day or 2 with some silca blast or something and block all light to roots (fill net pots to the top) ;)

maybe even a piece of panda film on top of the net put to block the light

dont think there gonna die but might delay your intended harvest date a bit

grow on brother

Definitley flush her for a few days, I use staright Ph'd water and get all the light blocked from those roots. I think they will make it just get the light problem fixed, and flush em!

Hey dredank,

Can you get hold of some hydrogen peroxide (h2o2), it helps kill pythium and other pathogens, also helps add extra disolved oxygen into the water too ;)

Good luck man,

Maximum I would use is 35ml per UK gallon, that's assuming it's the 3% stuff that is most commonly used ;)

Also try lowering the water temps if you can, pythium hates the cooler temps :o

Hope that helps,

thanks for the help bald1;) sounds good ill try to get some tomorrow:D

okay so I changed the water and dropped pH to about 6.4 on the HOG and like 6.0on the OGRE hopefully this clears up soon:o , or i might just transfer to soil and hope for them to recover in the sun.

so the plants have been in water only, no nutes, and the pH has been like 7, the roots have lost most of that brown color aand seems to be growing again and have gained texture, they feel alive.

Im not sure at what dose of nutes i should start feeding them again though?
im using the general hydroponics, micro, gro and floro.

Anybody know?

thanks in advance

Start off like you would with a new clone or seed. Try quarter strength for a few days and see how she handles it, if everything looks ok then give em a little more each time till you get to full strength ;)

Hope that helps ya bro :)

Hey there!

Yea, brown roots can be from Heated water (HID lights) and or too much oxygen exposure.

Try a product that ends in "zyme" ie Hydrozyme/ Hygrozyme/Sensizyme and it should begin to eat at the ugly dead roots making room for your new tidywhitties to show through :D

BE GOOD

hey dredank-
i had the same prob with those netpots.
unlike the 3" cups i was used to using, the large ones have holes all the way up the side. light gets in and screws things up. like cb said, film over the pot will help tremendously.
anyway, the silica (i used pro-tekt, or something like that) complicated issues by throwing my ph outta whack, and i would get this thick rootsnot.
instead, i'd ph to 5.8, and use the hygrozyme as directed, for 3 days. then i'd add the food, starting mellow and working up according to ppm/ph drift. hygrozyme was my favorite additive. i used it for most of the grow, cutting it about 3 weeks before harvest. it kept everything happy and healthy. i can't rave about the stuff enough.
