alright i am looking to pick up a new vaporizer and not sure on what kind was most recommended by the people who know...so by all means share your opinion
It doesn't need to be cordless but being able to use it in the car would be useful and also i am not the best with breakable things such as the original bc (which i just broke) so i was looking into the vapir line but not sure if they are worth the cash....thanks in advance for the opinions

...To suggest... "The Volcano"
A very, very nice smoking method. It's a vaporizor of sort, a bit on the expensive side, but well worth it. It makes up to 3-5 hits, depending on the size of intake you can handle, and never has a harsh or bitter taste. Unfortunatly it's a bit too expensive for me to invest in, so I only get to use it when I frequent the MMJ clubs here in my state.

I bought a vaporizer http://www.vaporinfo.com/vapor-brothers-vaporizer.php after I quit smoking cigs and now I can hate smoking out of a bowl period. If you load it one hit at a time the taste is so fucking sweet!! It's like exhaling perfume.
The only problems I have with this vaporizer is
1) The angle, the element really should be pointing downward.
2) It's a bit of a pain getting the screens in properly.
Even with those design flaws I would take the vap over a bowl, bong or joint anyday.

By the way, I have no experience with a vap, I'm too cheap to go buy one and my friends are all broke to get one anyway
Is it REALLY that much better?
I mean, I know burning methods (joints, bongs, etc) cannot match a vap in being discrete (odor, smoke) but is it really worth all that money if you don't need it for that purpose?
Maybe once I smoke out of one I will change my mind. :D
Oh and another curiosity - can "vaped" bud be re-smoked, does it contain any THC, does re-smoked "vaped" bud still give you any effects?
Thanks peeps

I definitely think it's that much better. Better on your lungs, less wasted smoke (look at how much smoke floats away after each hit off a "burning method") and the taste... no comparison.
A friend smoked the leftover once when we were both tapped out (I refused to try it) and he said he got a slight buzz but he had to smoke about 5 bowls of it. :teef: I'd rather go without...

I am the fortunate owner of a Volcano, and can only sing its praises...I have had a couple of other vaporizors and speak from experience in saying that the Volcano is the best overall. I get 3-4 "bags" from a gm and 1/2 of meds. The first 2 are of great quality and get you very "medicated"...the remainder are of lesser quantity, but not mych less in quality. I get great pain relief with it and use much less medicine than I used to smoking.
Sure the Volcano is a bit pricey, but, in the long run it will pay for itself by your having to use less cannabis. I was lucky and won mine at a meeting of Medical Cannabis users in a raffle. My thanks go out to Storz & Bickel (the manufacturer) for making these available to the medical cannabis community! Also a big shout-out to my friends at TY magazine and forum.

I have had the opportunity to try various vaporizers and broke down and purchased a Volcano 3 years ago and wouldn't trade / sell it unless of course I find a superior model.
The cost of the Volcano is coming down in price and if you are a heavy user then the unit will pay for itself within 3 - 6 months as you get at least 30% more from your mj

so, i just bought myself a vaporizer, what's the deal with these things anyway, how much do you put in and how long does it take to vape all the good stuff?
i'll guess that depends on the temperature but i could still smell the vapor for about 10 minutes after i started it.

got it sussed now, since the harvest i've been hitting the green pretty hard and i'm getting a nasty cough so the VapirOne that I bought is getting some more play.
so heres a quick guide.
set the heat to really high, 200C to let it warm up
set the fan to low
fill the disc with well cut up bud.
reduce the temp to 150C and wait til it gets there
click in the disk
connect the bag properly, its easy not to push the tube in enough, makes the room smell great but you're losing lots of the good stuff
after about 15 secs set the fan to medium and wait, after about 3-4 mins the bag will be nearly full, set the fan to high to finish the bag off.
set the fan to low
remove the tube whist keeping the bag closed with your finger over the valve.
switch off the heat and eject the disk, tip it out of its holder
Inhale the bag, sit for a while to contemplate stuff
set the heat to 200C again to heat it up
remove the lid of the disk and use a match or something to stir up the weed, the disk may still be hot so take care, this step is optional really but improves the potency of the 2nd bag.
set the temp to 155C and plug in the disk, after 15 secs set the fan to medium again and follow the procedure to fill the bag
repeat the process again setting the heat to 160C and increasing it to 165C after a couple of minutes and you're about done.
It gets you a nice mellow stoned, not as strong as a session with a bong but different, deeper and very nice in it's own way.
And really saves on weed, the other night, mashed on the sofa, I had three disks, nine bags and that used about the same amount of gear as a joint.
now if i could just give up cigs, beer and cakes I'd be the healthiest mofo on this board.

Funny that this thread popped up. My VaporBrothers vaporizer died on me the other day so I emailed them. They told me that if it's over 90 days since purchase they charge $24.00 (includes shipping it back) and it takes 2-3 weeks.
So I sent it back but I couldn't wait 2-3 weeks cause I definitely prefer vapo to burning methods. Anyway, I searched ebay and settled on one from http://stores.ebay.com/Hippie-Kid-Industries
It was on a "best offer" sale and I offered $85 for it and they accepted. It's the hands free model, comes with a 4 pc grinder and free shipping.
Then I get an email from HippieKid saying that his shipment that recently came in didn't have the whips. I told him to send me everything but the whip since I have one and then send the whip when it comes in. He agreed and then knocked off an additional $10 for the hassle. That's good customer service!

I own the Vapro
www.vapro.us
for 310 you get the Car adapter version for mobile Vaping
you get the vaporizer which is a metal coil in glass that you can set to standby and vape and a glass piece that you pack the bowl with. By placing the metal coil-in-glass onto the bowl and hitting the heated air vaporizes the THC and you exhale some fragrant mist little to no coughing and if you do cough it will be a clean cough.
this is a cheaper alternative that is equal to the Volcano

I purchased this model, about 2 months ago and definitely love it. I actually paid less than the price that is listed there.. it's definitely worth it.
I just guessed on how to use it.. I set the temperature to around 400degrees. I find that if you set it above 440 it will start to burn. Upon use of it, I've found 400 works the best.
It's great! I definitely prefer it to any other method - although sometimes you just feel like a nice blunt/Joint :D
It's definitely quicker as well. It takes 3 mins approx to heat up to operating temp. As you inhale the temp drops - so if there are a bunch of you you often have to wait 30seconds or so in between turns.
The Vape seems to hit me faster than any other smoking method. Often, I can feel a buzz as soon as I exhale.
It's by far one of the greatest investments ive made as of late.. My friends love it too lol.. The vape is quite popular... (I've thought "Do my friends like me, or my vaporizer" lol.) You will def have alot of your friends who toke show up with a baggie and some eats;)
I would definitely consider buying a volcano after using my vaporizer. It just looks cool and appears to be the most wanted model (from what I can tell).
Like everyone on here says, you definitely get your moneys worth out of it.
plus, you have no need for papers, lighters, pipes, etc.. just turn on.. and Vaporize ;):D

Ok are we talking Celcius or Farenhiet? My digital Volcano is in Farenhiet. On the classic Volcano I always had my settings between 6.5 - 7. I know a med patient that has his always set to the highest temp which in my opinion crazy as the vapors are really harsh.

Fahrenheit on the temp. Harshness come from burning plant matter (the bud) as THC does the magic it's all you actually want. :D

Ok I understand that the harshness could be from BURNT BUD but... nothing has combusted it's still golden when emptied. Now I must also state that I prefer to vape hash as I really prefer to smoke joints when medicating with bud.
Now another thing to consider is reusing your spent meds as the Volcano doesn't get all the goodness out of the herb. Take the spent meds and save them in a glass jar and when you have between 1 - 2 oz then use that to make baked goods. I know quite a few med patients doing this and they all swear by it. Hey it's a way to make your meds stretch a bit longer.

When I got mine there was no temp reading on it so I just started low and worked upward with the heat until it was working like it should. I tried setting it higher and while nothing combusted, you can tell by the harshness and color of the cooked weed. It shouldn't be harsh (which is different than over filling your lungs and coughing, which is easy to do at first) and the color should be a dark golden, not brown.
