Hello, there!

This is my first attempt at growing.
I'm growing 9 grapefruit plants in a grow tent under a 400w HPS light in a soil/perlite mix.

I'm normally on weedfarmer.com, but I was wonder if I could get a second opinion here? -General concensus is that I've over-fertilized and underwatered. -Would you agree?

-Thanks for your time....

PS. For more info, take a look at my grow-diary...

Hey nought, :hello:

I can't see any nutrient burn from your pictures, but they aren't that clear so it's hard to tell.
Nutrient burn will show on the very tips of the leaves, do you have any dead ends on the older fan leaves, not on the new growth though.
Over watered plants normally exhibit really droopy leaves over the whole plant, are all or most of your plants leaves facing south?

peace,
bald1.

Howdy.
Er.... ok, here goes:

My plants are 5 weeks old. -They had a month of 18/6 veg lighting & have just completed their first week of flowering on 12/12 light.
Temperature tends to hover around 26-28 degrees celcius, and I'm afraid I have no way of measuring humidity. An extractor fan is set in the growtent which runs 1 hour on, 1 hour off, right around the clock.

The only leaves being affected are the ones at the bottom, with a rapid welting and yellowing. -Yellow spots are visible on the leaves before they turn completely yellow. I wish I could supplly clearer pictures, but all I have is a camera-phone.
I've read that fan leaves tend to die off, but isn't that near the end of the flowering cycle?

so, what kinda nutes and how often. They don't look so burned to me, but pics not ez to see. Yez fan leaves should not be falling off at 5 weeks, I don't think. You can tell if the girls are underwatered because the entire plant will droop. Good luck.
peace

So, no need to panic? -well 'ard.
-No more seem to be dying at the moment, and I'm keeping a watchful eye on them. -The flowering stage seems to take more time, effort and care than the veg stage.

I'd appreciate a look at those pictures though, dude. -I just try to get as much damn data as possible :D

I'm a week or two into my first time flowering as well, nought. Actually, i vegged mine for just a bit longer than you. Some of my leaves are experiencing what you're talking about. I think some simply because it's natural, and it happened to me a few times because of underwatering. One plant really suffered from this and lost like 30% of its lower leaves because i underwatered just a day too long, Lol.

Actually dude, i'm under a 400hps too. I HAD 9 plants, but only 5 turned out to be female. Interesting coincedences.

ok....

Good advice, folks. -And a handy picture, I must say. What type of weed is that, CB? -It looks quite fleshy. -The leaves on my plants are drier, and almost papery to the touch.

I've posted more pictures here, too. Taken just an hour ago.
I've been giving them all water daily for the last three days, and the soil is now moist to the touch, but net soggy or wet, if that makes sense...?

I've put a little fertilizer in today's water, to see if that causes any problems. I think they may need a little food now, as the leaves are yellowing and dying from the tips, back. -As if the plant's pulling all the life (or nutrients, for the less poetic) from the leaves, back into itself.
-I've been very nervous about overwatering and overfertillizing, since in all the books and on the net, they are most refered to in reference to sick and dying weed.

I think I've been very lucky so far; 10 seeds planted, 9 sprouted without problems, all female, and all alive. -They were feminized grapefruit variety dope seeds from femaleseeds.nl

Any further advice, dudes?
