Messina's Green Spirit & Himalayan Gold

Okay, i best introduce myself...Am currently growing Green Spirit & Himalayan Gold from seed, which is my 5th grow now. I used to be around on TW.com but since all the shit have kept my head down and not really posted as much as i ought to. That is hopefully set to change!

The one on the right is the green spirit and the left, himalayan...about three to four weeks veg done and have been into flower a little over a week now, the himalayan is maybe a 6 or 7 days behind as i originally intended to use it for a mother. :rolleyes: greed got the better of me! :p

I am using a 400w HPS light with budget ballast. For veg i use a single 125W Envirolight, i found them to be fantastic for veg but not so great for flowering!

In the cab temps are about 80-86 lights on and around 68-72 lights off. 60/40 soil/perlite mix and I am using vita link nutes.

I also have a Bubblicious x White Chronic seedling on its way, hopefully this sucker will be female and can be the replacement mother with any luck!

I was going to use the NFT with clones i were to take from the Himalayan but i stuck it into flower instead. :p

I will be giving NFT another blast after this round, need to get a good TDS meter first though, didn't want to risk anyhting you see!

Temps in the cab are looking real good, they normally sit at around 82-84 but the temp dropped a bit as i had the door open a while to give them a good look over.

The green spirit in action :D I must say, this strain has flowered so quickly its unbelieveable. Its crazy, its only just under a week ahead of 12/12 than the other! :eek:

Oh and by the way, the Himalaya is supposed to contain roughly 20% THC, which is ALOT by my personal standards!

Hey guys!

As ever thank you for your kind comments!

Sadly there is a bit of bad news...on saturday night i picked up 3 girls from a "friend" to finish them off in thier last 3 weeks as he came home from university. It was dark so i wasnt paying much attention and shoved them in the cab.

This morning however, when i went to check on them i realised they were riddled with spider mites! So after some handy advice from cranky ive removed them and sealed them in a washing bastket with some bin liners!

I shall be going to the local place later and getting some spidermite control to resolve this! You do not know how soul destroying this is after the effort ive put into making this grow as perfect as can be. This is a major setback. Hopefully i shall learn from my mistakes and check everything that comes my way in future!

My girls after one and a half days in the cab with the mites show no sign of them yet. Its not advised to use the spray in flower but i will test it on the badly infected ones and see if it helps any. I may be able to get away with it as im only just around the two week flower mark.

Anyway here are some pics. I will let you know how the spidermites go in the next day or two.

It also turned out i needed some more bloom nutes so ive ordered those too.

Thank gawd,i havent had to deal with no mites yet.I know alot that has battled them for a long time.
that was pretty low to knowinly
give ya some infested plants.

Hey guys & gals.

Looks like i might not have a mite problem at all, have managed to keep the humidity at 55-60% and temps around 82 lights on and 70 at lights off. It seems to have slowed them down a bit. I gave them a shot of spidermite control just to make sure. Its been 6 days since i got the little buggars and no apparent signs, only found a maximum of ten leaves with damage before the treatment!

Everything looks ok except the new growth on the himalayan gold (one on left) is a paler green. I bumped them with some veg nutes to see if that would clear the problem, but has anyone else got any ideas?

So, am I right or wrong when i say, you have 2 females under your 400hps light only?

I'm sure i'm only seeing two but i'm high and simple.

Anyway. First I want to say: i'm jealous. I wish I could grow just two big guys under my 400. Secondly: Wow! Those are some big plants for a 400! I'm impressed and interested! Thirdly: Do you have any reason for two? Have you grown more, yet smaller plants under your light than just two? - I'm interested in how you will yeild. Other than you're obviously good at this growing gig, we have similar gardens. A 400 HPS, white walls, and dirt. :P I have 5 females going under mine, but they're much smaller. I wouldn't think you could flower such large plants under this light! I'm blown away at how much your lower branches are budding even so far from the light. Mine aren't like that. :watch: :teef:

No particular reason for just the two...the most ive ever grown at one time is 4.

As for the height, you might as well get them as big as you can, right? your only going to increase your yield!

About the yield...to be honest i have no idea what i'll end up with. I was hoping for 3 oz per girl but CB informed me that it could be anywhere up to 7oz a girl!

However, seeing as this is just for my own stash its not really yield thats my main priority, its the quality! Im sick of schwag!!! :rolleyes:

ok, so its been four or five days since i posted some new pictures...

Everything is going great, have seen hardly any mites so i am very pleased, a few of the pistils have started turning amber allready which has got me watering at the mouth! :mmmm: I cant wait now, it's like christmas as a child again! :D 4, maybe 5 weeks left...

im really havin a good look and i cant see any characteristics in your green spirit that mine can relate to, eventhough it was the same batch of beans.
Same goes for the himalaya!
The only solution i can think of is that these werent 100% homogenus seeds...but then i doubt ud find any, unless they were all from the same plant?
MEh, who cares? gonna have urself some killer smoke!

I was also wonderin if you minded me posting a pic or two from the ones i kept. For a lil comparison in plant variety...

A lil bit of advice...dont try and clone these man, they are a BITCH to keep alive as clones!
Or maybe its just my lack of dedication to this grow, i dont know, but either way, your shit is right off the scale mate!
