First of all, hi to all, i am new to this forum. i am working on my first grow.
also i am disabled and use the weed for pain relief, and PLEASURE LOTS OF BOTH.
I will start by asking about my grow cabinet, it is 5 ft. tall 4ft. wide and 2 1/2 ft. deep, top and sides bottom and door are lined with mylar, it is on casters for ease of moving it around the shop, it has double doors in the front, full size of cab, i am looking for all the suggestions i can get on heat, lighting, exhaust, and intake of fresh air and circulation of air in cab. wattage, MH, HPS, digital ballast, or standard, cool the light fixture or not, size and location of intake, size and location of exhaust, as you can read i am looking for all info, i can get on this cab. i have some ideas i learned on another forum, but maybe a new forum and some different/fresh ideas.
i will be asking questions in other sections about my soil medium.
thanks, zig.
now lets hear alot of replys, and answers to my questions.:watch:

it seems as tho you have just begun to put your cabby together, let me get this straight.what you have so far is a 50 sqrft box with mylar on all 5 sides.0 lights 0 venti.Do you have any thoughts on what you want this project to become, like HID equip.or flouro,do ya have a exhaust fan selected if so how about some details. How much do you want to spend to get this fly'n.

first off,welcome to hgb pal;)

the main prob you would have in a box of that size would be HEAT.you can go all the way(veg & flower) using envirolights.these dont give off anywhere near as much heat as hps,mh or hid lights but they also dont give off as much lumenums.plus you will still need to ventilate as they still give off abit of heat.

i have used enviros myself for both veg and flowering and although i was imprest with the results, you still cant compare them to the hps etc.

if cash aint a prob then i would go for a 400w hps in an air cooled reflector.basically its a sealed unit with a fan attached and will either blow or suck the air from inside of the reflector straight out of the cab.

1 small 100mm fart fan(toilet fan) in the bottom of the cab and 100mm hole at the top covered by a vent would be enough to ventilate the grow area with say a 1 6 inch osculating clip on fan to(to move air about and strengthen plants stems) would to the job great..

hope this helps...any q.s then fire away...

This is what i have so for,FLUOREX Grow Light 65 watt, low heat, fluorescent fixture, i also have a 150 watt. switchable MH/HPS with both the bulbs, no lens on fixture and not made to cool with a fan, in the upper left side of the cab. is a super quite 5 inch exhaust fan, and in the right side of the cab. is a 2 1/2 in. hole for intake, this exhaust fan and intake is just for fresh air, the intake and exhaust are already installed, they have light defusers on them both on them, the (defusers) where made in a fabrication shop where my son works the intake has a air conditioner filter over it, now the lights i mentioned above are NOT installed yet, waiting to find out what to do or use i have spent alot of time building this , but in no hurry to get it done as i want to get it right, money is a problem but i have the funds to buy a 400 watt switchable MH/ HPS fixture with lens and cooling ports. thats abought it.:mmmm:
