Hey all -
I'm in need of giving my old soil a "regenerating" boost, could someone share their recipe?
A good base would be 5 gallons of mix, it can be multiplyed from there.
Please be sure to give amounts/ measurements of items used.
Thanks!
Fred

Lemon jello? I'm more of a pineapple kinda guy:D
Need to give your soil a kick huh? You're organic I bet;)
When I finish some girls in a five gallon pot I dump the soil in a cement mixer. I add 3TBSP of blood meal, 3TBSP bone meal and 1 cup of fireplace ash. This rebuilds the NPK of the soil and gives all those little microbes something to work on.
What is your mix made of? Mostly peat or soil?
In the meantime I'll slide you into a proper forum:p

Thanks for the reply Filla!
Well this is how it all started;
40lb bag of potting soil + *8 Dry Quart bag of Black Magic + a 1lb coffee can full of perlite.
In-between grow cycles the soil is taken out of the plot... finely chopped stems and other plant trimmings/ cutting are added, along with a 1lb can of new potting soil and about a half a pound of Black Magic... this is then allowed to rest for about a month before re-use.
No Nutes are used... I know this is probably not a good thing to do but I'm scared of burning the plants and afraid of the taste it may cause to the finished product.
Let me ask you this too....
I have two flowering plots empty and 12 plants ready to go into those plots.....
would you suggest a completely new soil mix?
..... or sticking to what I already am using but adding the ingrediants you've suggested to my old soil?
Thanks a lot for all of your help!
Fred
EDIT: *Changed Black Magic size from 10lb to 8 Dry Quarts.

I was trying to remember who and where I had seen a bunch of good grow log info from when I first interneting about growing.... soil mixing, how to's, etc.... and lord behold there's a guy on another site posting right now, as I'm writing this, a complete grow log that the 3LB did some time ago. (Three Little Birds)
Sorry I just had to make a comment about the 3LB.... Man whomever the 3LB was I loved reading those threads!
