I love my joints over everything else......I don't feel complete without the simple act of smoking ....the rolling and lighting...and smoking that joint till theres nothing but a wee roach ....

But......I am also addicted to glass....I like my pipes for smoking hash....usually moroccan hash or bubble hash.....and for my joints I use a chillum.....I always use glass for my ganja

Mainly my bong... or my "zong"...Sometimes a blunt, sometimes a pipe, sometimes a bubbler.

my favorite method is a doobie, wrapped in a nice unflavored paper.
ilove the taste of mj, and i find that a good joint gives me what i'm looking for. i had been using a glass bat to try to cut down (was smokin' 3.5-5g a day easy) but that just broke, so now i'm back to doobies.

Mr. Layne, I'm with you. The joint is king. I have been smoking for a loooong time, and the joint has not become old hat at all. I think a nice joint allows you to pass and share your smoke in a way that allows each toker to get a nice taste of what you have grown. I am a big believer in careful handling of buds to keep trichs in place, and squeezing all that flavor into a nice joint is a sweet thing.
I just read two studies that I thougt were real interesting. The one that is relavent here is that for relative effectiveness in getting the buzz to the stoner, the joint can't be beat. Bongs and bubblers remove as much THC as they do tars, so folks end up smoking more to get the same buzz (plus, I have always felt that a bong takes away the wonderful taste that we cure our buds to achieve). Vaporizers are better than water pipes, but not as direct as the joint.
While I do use a little glass pipe quite a bit, I like joints for many, many reasons. The other article that I am trying to source accurately before I post, says that smoking dope does not post lung cancer risk that smoking tobaco does. I think that is big new for medical users, so I want to confirm that the article is available on-line before I post that info.
Given that I was 2 tokes to get this written, right now some ganga brownies sound pretty good too!

i don't remember where i saw it, but i did read an article about how altho mj and tobacco contain many of the same carcinogens, there is something in tobacco that in some way activates the cancer, while mj contains a component that suppreses it.
in any event, i also read something by fmr surgeon gen. koop (sp?), and one of the leading causes of lung cancer caused by cigs is actually caused by ingestion of polonium 210. it seems that the ferts they use to grow that stuff contain this radioactive material because of what they get the phosphorus from.....it also appears as tho tobacco stores this polonium as it's growing, and up until it reaches the consumer's lungs.

Mr. Layne, you are correct in that what most people smoke as tobaco now is not real tobaco. But I think the article you read is the one I was talking about. Somehow the body has receptors for the cancer-causing smoke in tobaco, but not for MJ. But in the brain, there ARE receptors for MJ that result in good health. I will try to find that link and get it up.

Nice pieces everybody. I bought my first glass bong about a month ago and I'd love to share a picture of her with you but she was broken in the first week by my wife. So now Im back to a plain jane acrylic tube bong. No thrills, no bells or whistles, hell doesnt even have a 'real' carberator just a slide bowl. But it works, and when it breaks I can glue it back together.

I also like a joint, but the smell lingers from them much longer then I care for so its rare that I get the chance to smoke them. If Im outdoors though, it'll be a joint over a bowl/bong anyday.

I smoke joints but only if I am at someone's house or out fishing with the boys. I never smoke them at home. I just prefer a pipe. I have a pipe I bought back when I was 16. I have smoked out of it prolly 90% of the time up till a few months ago. Well, prolly 6-8 months ago now. lol. WOW time flies. Anyhow, I bought my first Glass piece and fell in love with it. I kept it clean when I first started smoking and then I figured I would let it season up a little and see how it was. I prefer a clean glass pipe over anything else. I would stick up a pick but I just don't have any right now but I will get one soon and stick it up in here.

It depends on where I'm at.
Round the house, I get a itchin to do gravity hits from a 2 liter bottle or a shotgunned Steamroller (actually an acrylic steamroller that has an end that pops off) while yer taking a hit ya slide the endcover away from ya and it pulls in more smoke, then pop it off just as the bowl empties out> might as well put a 12-guage in yer mouth.....

Of course I usta have crazy tubes, still looking to find another one.
Just Pyrex all twisted into a crazy shape usually U can put a doob or a one hit and fire that up, good for enteratainment value.
and while were on the subject... just curious why anybody would want to ruin the taste of fine bud by wrapping in a cigar skin, frankly I'd rather go with out than smoke a blunt. Not knockin personal preferences, just can't hack the taste of tobacco since I quit.

spent many years smoking them things;) we either use a bucket and a 2ltr bottle or have a 3 ltr bottle or higher and use that as the bucket part and just put ya 2 ltr inside if ya gets me;)

I gets ya cranky, makes sense, ive tried something close to that. It was a 2 liter or whatever and a bag taped to the bottom.
So what you would do is push the bag as far in on the 2liter as possible, have your bowl loaded and screwed in ready to go. Light the bowl and pull the bag from the tip for the suction, the smoke fills up the 2liter and bag you taped on:eek: so you get a pretty fat rip:D

I use a 1/2 gallon milk jug modified as I explained earlier The best one's are with the handle at the top. I fill my sink as full as I can (1/2" for waves guys, I hate mopping when I'm stoned) then tilt the jug over so it fills up more then screw the cap on then fire the bowl< I can get a jug nearly full of water, gives about an extra 5-10 secs of pull.

and yeah I was gonna rip ya for the whimpy bowl pack but considering oil, yer fergiven...BTW can I be the judge on the impemding Dredank VS. CB bowl pack'o'rama?

all the gb's ive ever made were basic hacked off the bottom 5 gallon sparklette bottles the huge ones at coolers:D thats the way to do it..pack a fatty bowl and prepare to go well beyond your limits...ive seen people puke..light weights..but giver a go...bath tubs...i like just big tubs of equal size to the 5 gallon ..well alil bigger ya know..thats how ya gotta get down:cool: its intense2thumbs not really an economical way to smoke but if your having people over its a good time:peaceman: :peace:

Gotta add something to your gravity bong discussion. All you guys have some not-so-easy to use gravity bongs. I use a 32oz Gatorade bottle, inside a 2 liter sprite bottle. Real nice fit, and you can keep it that way, filled with water.

Don't use it much anymore since I got weed all the time, but it really saved my ass when all i had was like a .3 at night.

a .3 for a single hit gravity can keep you high for quite a while.

I use a vaporizer, a steam roller and joints. I use the vaporizer before I go to bed. I use the steam roller during the day. and joints in the car or on my scooter.

I loooooooove my steam roller. it gives the big hits that get me medicated real, real fast. I highly recommend getting one. maybe for my birthday, I can get the great big one I double fantasy love.

For bud I use a nice glass bong and for hash theres no better way to hit it than with hot knives. occasionally I roll a nice fat joint, and when I do I only use RAW unbleeched papers, the best for nice normal sized joints or big fatties :D

I must be one of few, if any, that doesn't smoke. My best buddy does. He uses a variety of items, from a glass pipe and bong to swisher sweets.

I just really enjoy the smell before it is smoked.

cranky i smoked that one daaays ago, dont let em sit out long they get dry. i like of of them about every few days or so:D i smoke regular swishers daily;) the weed i got right now isnt all that good tasting but it gets you higher than any swag brick and in pretty freakin cheap. but once harvest come around well ill probly have the same smoking habits:D but alot more bong rips and much better tasting blunts:D

or just simply use a cigarette machine like me... still use the filtered tubes, but use weed to pack the machine with instead.

it is the ultimate stealth transportation method... I've had cops look in my smoke pack at all the 20 filters of what they thought was reg cigs, and wave me on thru checkpoints many times... little did they know that all 20 filters were the ends of dubes... just rip the filter off and there you have it... you can even pack a little bit of regular tobacoo at the end, so they even look like regular smokes if you inspected them... just the smell would give it away...

let me tell ya, tho... the first time I got checked, I was shitting bricks... :cool:

I've read that bongs remove THC and aren't very efficient methods of getting stoned too, but I definitely get higher with them than any other method I've tried besides ingestion and that's the way I smoke >99% of the time. Maybe it's related to taking larger, deeper hits since it's smoother and easier to do that than with joints or pipes. I also think bong hits, from a nice clean glass bong, taste better than pipes or joints. :shrug: Especially pipes and extra especially metal pipes, yuck. :laugh: Joints are nice sometimes especially with multiple people and if somebody else rolls because I suck at it. :laugh: This summer I had the privilege of smoking the best-rolled joints I've ever seen, by Pie. He puts strips of paper rolled into the end you smoke from, so it was kind of like an empty cigarette filter, which prevented loose pieces of MJ from getting into your mouth, and kept the end drier. :cool1: I haven't tried a vaporizer yet, want to get one of those.

Study Finds No Cancer-Marijuana Connection

The largest study of its kind has unexpectedly concluded that smoking marijuana, even regularly and heavily, does not lead to lung cancer.

The new findings "were against our expectations," said Donald Tashkin of the University of California at Los Angeles, a pulmonologist who has studied marijuana for 30 years.

"We hypothesized that there would be a positive association between marijuana use and lung cancer, and that the association would be more positive with heavier use," he said. "What we found instead was no association at all, and even a suggestion of some protective effect."

Federal health and drug enforcement officials have widely used Tashkin's previous work on marijuana to make the case that the drug is dangerous. Tashkin said that while he still believes marijuana is potentially harmful, its cancer-causing effects appear to be of less concern than previously thought.

Earlier work established that marijuana does contain cancer-causing chemicals as potentially harmful as those in tobacco, he said. However, marijuana also contains the chemical THC, which he said may kill aging cells and keep them from becoming cancerous.

Tashkin's study, funded by the National Institutes of Health's National Institute on Drug Abuse, involved 1,200 people in Los Angeles who had lung, neck or head cancer and an additional 1,040 people without cancer matched by age, sex and neighborhood.

They were all asked about their lifetime use of marijuana, tobacco and alcohol. The heaviest marijuana smokers had lighted up more than 22,000 times, while moderately heavy usage was defined as smoking 11,000 to 22,000 marijuana cigarettes. Tashkin found that even the very heavy marijuana smokers showed no increased incidence of the three cancers studied.

"This is the largest case-control study ever done, and everyone had to fill out a very extensive questionnaire about marijuana use," he said. "Bias can creep into any research, but we controlled for as many confounding factors as we could, and so I believe these results have real meaning."

Tashkin's group at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA had hypothesized that marijuana would raise the risk of cancer on the basis of earlier small human studies, lab studies of animals, and the fact that marijuana users inhale more deeply and generally hold smoke in their lungs longer than tobacco smokers -- exposing them to the dangerous chemicals for a longer time. In addition, Tashkin said, previous studies found that marijuana tar has 50 percent higher concentrations of chemicals linked to cancer than tobacco cigarette tar.

While no association between marijuana smoking and cancer was found, the study findings, presented to the American Thoracic Society International Conference this week, did find a 20-fold increase in lung cancer among people who smoked two or more packs of cigarettes a day.

The study was limited to people younger than 60 because those older than that were generally not exposed to marijuana in their youth, when it is most often tried.

A vap is a great way to toke. Deff no coughing fits and the hit comes pretty strong all at once IME. :D

Yes this rolling are made in Brazil and they are different ,Weed taste different , also they do burn evenly all the way like cigarettes and they burn very fast with slow drags :D.

Still i love my regular rolling papers , i like "OCB" Premium King Size Black box and King Size "Smoking" De Luxe Black Box , in USA i use Job 1.25 :D
