I got these free 'critically smashed' seeds from the Doc :)
They're 'critcal mass x white rhino' and with little rep except they're prone to bud rot with high humidity in flower and can be top heavy
Having sat on the shelf for a while I've decided to germ them and pop them in the greenhouse. I know its a little late in the year to be thinking of germing plants for outdoors but I can also get some clones of em for an indoor grow. If the rep turns out not so good on these they can just flower out in the greenhouse sat next to the 'cheese' mutant :goofy:

Just thinking aloud here, considering we've passed midsummers day and these have just gone into germ today, I could veg them in the indoor set up to speed em up and then switch em to the greenhouse :hmmmm:

I just need to look at some way of auto feeding. Maybe use the tropf (http://www.rambridge.com/products/irrigat/tropf/tropfbu2.html) watering sytem as I was looking at these when I started out in soil and have often wondered how they'd have performed :confused

My fantastic lovely lady says I can have half the greenhouse :D

Anyone want chime in and see something grown? I'm about to submit a seed order but being told I have some space to play with
why not us all play up  Suggestions on a post card..... ;)

If those smilies add up to less than 11 people enjoying themselves, consider the party dispersed :D

No suggestions tripps

Good Luck my friend Burnsy ;) i sure like Critical mass man its one hell of a strain and huge yields early flow strain 45 to 55 days indoor and White Rino is one strong hight yielder strain under 65 days flow time indoor ,so you should get large yield oudoors and harvest earlier , a combo for good smoke and early large outcome:eek: i just love't

That combo will be the great strain for one who uses to much weed:rolleyes:, like my self :peaceman:

Have you thought of an autovalve from an autopot for your self watering? You can buy them on their own.

I love my autopots... :D Thinking of trying a full grow witha bunch of 'em even... ;)

Thanks Cezar. I'm interested to see how they turn out :)

Foxy I never thought of them and TBO forgotten you raved about em :confused Looking at the price and wanting 10-20 its an expensive route though and I'm not super rich like you :p

Could you measure one Foxy, then I can see how many would fit down one side.

Think we got crossed wires there Matey, I weren't suggesting you use the whole Autopot setup, just the valve. ;)

In a grow shop near me they've used one of those Giant Garland Work Trays (120cm x 55cm) and put loads of different plants in normal pots, in the tray. They then have one of these valves, fed by a 100l Space Sava Water Butt. It fills the tray to just under an inch, then lets it nearly dry out, before filling it again. Works great. ;)

I see what you're saying. Never thought of using the valve only. This could be the way to go throughout the greenhouse for everything, including fruit etc :hmmmm: So how do they anchor?
Thanks o sly one :)

I forgot about the seeds, twice :slap: For 4 days they were in the attic in all that heat, then when remembering them I bought them down and put em on a book shelf for 2 days.
I just remembered them again and we have 6 outa 10. My worst germ rate so far but besides cooking them in the attic, they were as immature seeds as some Mr Nice I once germed and had a bad rate on.
Never the less they'll be potted up tomorrow and into the veg cab. Mid week I should have the White Russians back in my possession so there will be another germ session. With those I want to take clones off the females and then seed them out for stock. I find working with the Russians a treat in both predictability, ease of cloning and gauging flip time.
Tripps sent me some rep on these Critically Smashed and there appears to be a lot of mutants coming out in veg. Seeing how this is the greenhouse I'm quite happy to grow them out with the White Russians and whatever else takes my fancy this coming week.

Well what a crock of sh#t these Critically Smashed turned out to be.
tripps earlier linked me up with a thread showing some mutant births from this strain, and it looks like I got a portion of them too!
From the 5 I've got two good to go, all be it slow growth and not in shape for a flower show this late in the season, and three mutants.

WOW you let them tap roots get loong.
yep some mutants there...but don't bail so early I've had some nice mutant phenos b4...most time hard to get goin but some when they decide too take off ;)

Mr Burns

Them tap roots were long cause I was waiting for the slackers to catch up Dawg. I don't normally leave em that long and TBO these seeds were a freebie so I never really had any investment in them ;)

I hear you regarding keeping the 'mutes' but I'll be dumping them in the morning. I'm trying to keep as little as I need on the property just in case and being caught with mutants would just about suck, considering they'd still be counted.

I have to admit to being a little slack in the grow department, as in keeping things minimal. Its time to go through everything and have a good clear out ;)

You know you're always welcome round my way OD and I doubt others would say any different.
Just sorry this years outdoors effort wasn't a show you could have read with indulgence but with balancing life and constraints out of our control some things run out off puff not far off the starting gun, as we all experience.
Not to be dis-heartened but in fact celebrating it'd be an asset to have your knowledge come along for next Springs outdoor extravaganza :gthumb:

Thank you for making the effort lovely girl and I truly hope all is well with you, yours and those around you :hippy: Now give me a kiss :cool1:

So how do they anchor?

Sorry burnsimself I missed that question. :( I guess you've got it sorted by now but just in case....

The autovalve has a small D section in one corner which you firmly push onto a T section of plastic, shown by my glamorous assistant, here:

https://svr94.ehostpros.com/~homegr52/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=17535&stc=1&d=1220823651

If you take the autovalve and use it on its own, then it will effectively fill whatever container it's in to a level of about 23mm. Then it will let the water level fall to around 3mm, then fill it back up to 23mm, etc., etc...

When used in an autopot, the place where it sits is slightly lower than where the plant-pot sits, so it will fill the area the pot sits to a level of about 20mm, then let that area virtually dry out, before refilling to 20mm again.

So you could see the balance point I took out a syringe of water at a time, then took a photo. This was the last photo before it refilled again:

https://svr94.ehostpros.com/~homegr52/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=17536&stc=1&d=1220823651

I've just thought of a bad point for you though.... the valve will fill the enitre container it's in to 23mm, so if for instance you had a large tray with a few plant pots in it, there'll be a large expanse of still, open water. When I saw it used on that large tray at the hydro shop, they had filled pretty much the whole tray with plant pots, of different shapes and sizes. They also filled the tray with a layer of clay balls. Just a note Matey, wouldn't want you mucking up a grow because of my bad advice. You're more than capable of doing that all by yourself. :flipa:

That's good info Basil cause the greenhouse will be up for action early spring, and as for the trays not being covered I can easily get some black correx and cut holes to size ;) There's also the option of pouring some self levelling screed to place the trays onto and plumbing one valve into 3 or 4 trays.

I suppose I ought to get some pics of the two that are in there. The GH 'Cheese' is sprouting single calyx's only and the 'Big Foot' mom is recovering from the 'crush or not...' clone donation.

I appreciate you taking the time with the pics buddy.
