So here I am, finally getting started here!!!

So I currently have 16 plants in a swamp, 7 of which are bagseed, 3 are Hindu Kush x White Widow, 4 are DP Passion #1, and 2 are DP Frisian Dew.

13 are in 10 gal grow bags, which actually hold 12 gal, and another 3 are in 5 gal buckets.

My soil mix is 40% potting soil, 30% compost, 20% peat moss, and 10% perlite. I also added dolomite lime, and GH Rare Earth( a silica and humus supplement).

This is my smallest HKxWW. It stands about 3 ft tall.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=78

These are the other 2.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=79
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=81

The Frisian Dew and the Passion #1 were kind of late starts. I didn't receive them until about the 20th of May, and they didn't go outside until about 3 and a half weeks ago.

These 2 are the Frisian Dew.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=82

These are 2 of the 4 Passion #1's.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=85
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=77

This is a Passion in the foreground, and the 2 FD's in the back.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=83

These are some of the bagseed. The shortest on stands at about 4 ft. They have been outside since I got the FD and P#1 seeds.

So that's most of my plants. OD, at least.

Stay tuned for the start of my ID thread, probably this evening!

Shotgun! :D Sounds cool, I'm a believer in silica supplements, some have complained of Hempy plants not staying upright, becoming leaners, I use pro-Silica, Freakshow actually turned me on to the idea, if I remember right, I only had a couple leaners, all Nebula, for some reason, and it wasn't significant enough that I bothered supporting them. Hope they finish in time for you, I may try covering some if they need it this year if we get an early frost.

Hey, guys!

Tripps, I'd recommend the RE, if you can get it. It's cheap! 40 bucks for 16 lbs.
I get a later frost than you, being closer to the water, and further south. We get until at least the end of Oct, and the last few years, I'd say even into Nov! I think I might even have a few bagseed that might need that long!

Cezar, thank you much. I do believe that I may reach my expectations of 5 lbs. Sure hope so!

All the best,
TG

BTW, I'm procrastinating on the ID thread. I'm putting it off till tomorrow.

So I went out to my swamp today, but forgot to bring my camera.

Things are still growing very quickly. My late starts have almost caught up in height with my old plants. Didn't top them, so that probably helps explain things.

Had to cut a bunch of branches today, to let 2 of my Passion #1's more light.
They needed it badly.

On an interesting note, both of my Frisian Dew's are already flowering! Last week I thought one of them was starting to bud, but discounted it. Now, that one has an inch tall bud already, and the other one looks like that one did last week. I'm thinking of crossing this with a few things during the winter/spring, as I still have 2 FD beans left.

I think I'll try crossing it with longer flowering strains, to see if it carries the early flowering trait.

Also, I realized when I was out there that a couple of my pics were mis-labeled, so look back up there to see the corrections.

All the best,
TG

that guy

OK, so apparently I can't edit my post again, so I'll just post them again, with the corrections.

The plant on the left is a Passion #1. The one on the right is a Frisian Dew.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=82

This is a Frisian Dew, not a Passion #1. This is the one that is further along in flowering of the 2.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=85

The two plants in the foreground are both Passion#1's, and the one in the back is a Frisian Dew.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=83

Those are the only corrections.

You and me both, friend:D

Cezar, I've always loved weed. From the first time I smoked heddys, I knew I was going to be a cannaseur. Sold the stuff for a long time, too.

I just hated the way that when something REALLY tasty would come around, it would never be for long. So That was the driving force behind my deciding to grow.

Now that I'm doing it, though, I love everything about it. Growing multiple strains at once is the best, though.

OK, so I've procrastinated long enough, so here's the update. Took these on the 20th.

Here's the smallest plant, a Passion #1. I finally did some cutting to give it more light, something I should have done a few weeks ago.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=127

Here's another P#1 that needed light as well, but was at least getting more than the first one.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=128

On these P#1's I bent the top 6" or so in a U.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=139
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=140

And a closeup of the bends and what doing it did.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=142
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=142

One of them looked to be roughly a week into flowering, too! And an advertised 6 week flowering period!
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=152
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=151

This Frisian Dew is the one that started flowering first.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=135
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=147
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=146

And here's the other one.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=144

And a closeup of this one, too.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=150

Here's the HKxWW. They seem to be fine in the heat we had in the few days before I took these pics.
This is the smallest one.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=129

The middle sized one.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=130

A closeup of the branching it's done.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=132

And the largest of the three.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=143

The bagseed plants I have are doing much worse, water-wise. As you'll see, the bucket plants were doing very badly.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=138
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=133
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=137

The grow bag bagseed plants were doing a little better, but still needed the water very badly.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=131
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=134

Guess I didn't take pics of the other 2 grow bag plants. Here's what I get to snack on in my swamp. It's about 2 feet from one of my plants.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=148

And I thought I'd take a pic of the clearing I have.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=9&pictureid=154

It's finally raining here. We need it really bad. I'm thinking of heading out to my swamp tomorrow, in the middle of torrential downpours, to fill my 32 gal trash cans up from the stream I know will FINALLY have water in it again for the first time in about a month.

Then I'll be set for the rest of the summer! 5 trash cans for a total of 160 gallons!

I think I asked before, maybe, but how the hell do you load so many pictures, these are new, not transfered from another site, right? Seems like you'd be downwind of our weather patterns, seems like we've averaged 2" of rain a week, I've never watered my outdoor garden yet! That's a once in a lifetime summer.

that guy
07-24-2008, 07:56 AM
Cezar, unfortunately I don't even have a full week. 3 days is the longest I'm comfortable leaving them without water. I don't mind; whatever it takes!

I'm really happy about the flowering plants, I'm already out of HKxWW from my first harvest! So, 6 more weeks or so, and I'll be able to start harvesting a little bud for smoke!

Thanks, Cyclon!

Not so sure I understand, Tripps. If you mean the total # of pics, I'm just about at the limit, so I'm going to have to start figuring something out!

Yeah, you'd think I'm downwind of all that rain, wouldn't you? Unfortunately, the river that bears my state's name seems to dissipate all the rain, and I happen to be on the E side of it. Right now is the first rain that has fallen here since about the 4th! As close as 25 miles away, on the W side of the river, they've gotten perfect amounts.

Many people have been having a season like you have, Tripps. I should still, as well, since the temps at least, have been perfect. I want to say we've only had maybe 5-6 days this month that have even hit the 90's around here! Low to mid 80's in the day, mid to high 60's at night.

So I have to bring all the water(unless this crazy plan to fill my trash cans works, then I'll still have to walk a quarter mile, with NO path, straight through the woods, to get the water to the plants), but they should still get some great yields!

All the best,
TG

There is a 5 pic per post limit for uploads. You get around it somehow.

Tripps, if your camera has an SD card slot, go buy a 2 GIG card. It'll hold over 1000 pics. Then you just don't erase them from the camera while that card is still in it.

Yup, Cranky and CB are absolutley correct!

CB, thanks for the info!

So I went out there in the rain today. Got drenched! But I now have 64 gallons stored. I couldn't carry more than 2 trash cans at once, and then I managed to get myself lost for about a half hour, so after filling those 2, I gave up for the day, since it was 5 PM already.

So back out in the morning, to fill 1 more. I realized that I don't need more than that, so I won't do it.

Also, I've looked at the NOAA long range forecast, which says that there will be slightly above average rainfall over the next couple of months. So I decided that I needed a slow release fert for flowering, so I bought some peace of mind bulb food, 3-8-8. I'm still going to use the GH kool bloom, but at least this way, when it rains, it won't be plain water diluting my P-K ferts.

CB, I honestly don't have the faintest clue whether the KB will kill the "good beasties". What makes you say that?

That could be a problem, as I don't have the money for an organic bloom booster(spent too much on both grows already), and I want as much nuggage as possible.

Don't the FF boosters, cha ching; beastie bloomz, and open sesame all have chems in them? And I thought that those boosters are supposed to be used WITH their organics?

Should I buy some cheap guano or something?

yes those have chem's and are organic based, POM line is organic which I use now. but i dont mix it with there organic based line of products.

The beastie bloomz worked a treat here and I have plenty left over as you know it goes a long ass way, but not meant to be used with there POM line of products....

It wont kill ya plants like bro but could deprive them of some goodness

Well, it sure looks like the greencure worked, though I have to reapply it since it is water soluble. There is still some PM, but much less than there was, but not in the same places.

Picked some test smoke off both FD's, the 2 P#1's furthest along, and my sexy bagseed. I'll post some dried pics in a week or so, when they're done.

So everything's budding quite nicely now. I have 6 plants that will be done within the next 3 weeks:), and then another 4 a week or so later:D.

Here's the least impressive bagseed plants, though they are growing extremely pink pistils! No trichomes, though.

I thought the bagseed plant that's looking very sexy was the really good one, but now that I have 2 other bagseed plants that are forming lots of trichomes, I'm not too sure that it's the sexy bagseed I thought it was.

This P#1 I've had to tie off to nearby branches, as it's getting too heavy to hold itself up!:D

And the other 2 P#1's, both of which are having as little trouble standing upright on their own!

And last but not least, the HKxWW, which are putting on trichs at quite a young age!

Trichs don't mean that much as far as potency, IMO, my White Russian I consider my most potent strain, shows hardly any trichs on it's sweetleaves, while the Nebula is extremely trichy, yet I would rate it second to the WR.

I definitely agree with that tripps. The White Russian is the best toke I've had and the Nebula is a good decent smoke but not at White Russian strength. Nebula sure does look nice all covered in trichs as do your Texada Time warp. :D

Hey guys! Sorry I've disappeared again, but I've been a busy man!

Got some heavy winds and rain Sat and again yesterday. Staked and tied them up on Fri, but haven't been back since.

My buddy who's a mile and a half (approx. 3 km) away from me found some bud rot on Sun, so I have my fingers crossed that I don't have the same problem, as I have the same strain!

So I've started smoking the test buds of P#1, FD and sexy bagseed a few days ago. Not quite mature, and dried a little too quickly, but still tastes good, and gets me high as hell!

No pics, as they aren't pic-worthy, but dried bud porn will be coming really soon!!!

All the best,
TG

Forgive Me , But You really need To Get Those Yellowing Leaves Off Your Plants
Also Inspect Inside Your Buds For Brown Leaves ( They Are Usually The First To Mould Up )
