I've always found peat to be acidic. But my question is by ammending just a lil to help fluff up the castings gonna add 30-40% perlite in the mix and a tbs of dolomite lime per gallon. Is it worth it? Or should I just leave it castings and perlite?

Dawg i always use peat moss with Lime stone and vermiculite this will control Ph level very good , went using Dolomite lime will reduce chances to get acid soil bro .

I have been using coco in the mix of my soil and works very good makes the medium very soft and lite , also water runs true very easy .

I get a growing mix made in Canada and mix this with coco, perlite and warm compost

This growing Mix is made out of peat moss fine granulation 20% vermiculite , 2% dolomitic and calcite lime stone , 10 % humid agent , is design to sprout seeds and for vegetables transplants ( VTM SOGE MIX ) .

The dolomitic lime stone is to control Ph levels in this Mix:D

Hope to be some help man ..Peace

I've used cocoa b4 and loved it as well. but the peat was on sale. I'll do both with and without and see which one turns out better.
Thanks for the reply guys. :D Don't have any vermiculite and figure can live without it.
I mixed up 30% perlite and 70% castings and 1 tbs of dolomite lime/gallon of medium.
Will had 1/4 more of peat for comparison.
