Well do to the fact I'm taking on some solid (100% Known heritage) new clones (more on that in my indoor grow when I get 'em). So I have no room in my fridge for these White Rhino and Blue berry bag seed seedlings so outside they go. I gifted them to my nephew for him to have a try at with my guidance. I will check on them now and then and report back with pics. This is my first outdoor grow. :D

I have and will do some more. There are some branches from trees over head that sometimes cause shadows that need trimming. Will be done soon. :D

All the over head branches got trimmed and now they pretty much get direct sunlight from dawn to dusk. They do seem to grow faster outside. I'll get more pics in a few days. :D

it'll kick start the soil beasties and the plants

I'll do that Fing_57. Anything to get 'em going quicker. I'll toss some compost on and prolly give some nutes before that goes on top. Frost comes by early Oct at the latest so they need to be grown and flowering by lat Aug. :D

It's week five for the White Rhinos. They have put on some growth these last few weeks do to the thunder storms we have been having. I've also gave them full doses of Jack's Classic 20/20/20 a few times. Two of these are female for sure and the other three I'm unsure but one looks male. I'll check in a few days and remove as necessary. :D

Based on my indoor experience with the strain, they'll need mid to late October to finish. Being as we're in the same area, you might need to cver with plastic or large garbage bags once or twice, depending on the year here. I've seen first frost as early as September, and as late as November. I've put some outside too, knowing I was rolling the dice. Planning a temporary greenhouse for my goat pen already.:D
CylonBud
07-07-2008, 12:42 PM
Actually they are White Rhinos but I do believe they will finish just about the same. I plan to put some plastic over them on the cold nights. I get a little more time being near the lake (week or two) but not counting on it. I too have seen Sept frost. ;) The goat pen sounds like a great idea! You could cover the whole thing and have a green house for the most part. Go right to Nov if need be that way.

The two White Rhinos put on some height so they needed some training as recommended by Tripps. The pics is before training. They are now bent over so hopefully they will bush out more.

I've added two plants from my indoor grow that has been moved to another locations due a security issue that arose last week. The first is Wild Trip. It's a potent but unknown strain from a good friend that I named Wild Trip.

The other is one of the Nebula clones I received from a good friend as well.

I'm in the same boat Cylon and also with germing seeds as we speak, but I can remember doing this before and I still pulled some good bud from what I thought was a no brainer.
I still prefer outdoor bud if I'm honest. Its just very difficult here to get away with it unless on your own property. One guy I know had over 70 plants and after visiting them tooled up for the chop decided on giving them another few days seeing how the weather was favourable. It was the demise of a good harvest seeing that when he returned they were all taken but 1. Its some kind of sick statement round these parts to leave 1 plant, wankers. I blame it on hippy travellers living in trucks and coaches. I reckon they steal it to hang in their trucks to rid the aroma of their unwashed skanky bodies :2cents: Dirty bastards.
B b b b back to your journal. Wild trip I'm interested in seeing grown out outdoors. I had fantastic resin production from them. Great if you you're restricted for headroom too. Probably the shortest plant I have grown to date, and with the second highest resin production. In fact I had ridiculous resin production from them. Not just sticky, they oozed resin as though it was dripping :)
If I myself had headroom issues in a grow I wouldn't hesitate in growing nebula grow after grow. I really can't speak too highly of it regarding all of the above.
Good to see what you're up to buddy. Sorry to hear there was a security issue but no doubt you can ride that out with producing some quality outdoor material :D
Kudos Cylon 2thumbs

That plant(s) in question would be 2 White Rhinos. They just got trained (not pictured yet) as they where looking like big versions of your and Foxey's stingers. :D pics of the training tomorrow or so. Just saw the yellow dot. That is actually a tree with an almost velvet bark (soft and fuzzy) and segmented leaves. the wood is weak and easy to break. I'll ask for it's proper name as well as post a pic of a full one for ya.

when neck breaking do it closer to the top of the branches;)
that far down and its to mature to do what you want it to.
best way i find is to hold the branch like you would a piece of string and wiggle slightly back and forth...this will soften it up ..then crush abit between the index finger and knuckle on ya thumb abit to mash up even mo....all the time trying not to split the branch or crease it.;)

They do make excellent cover. The similar leaf structure allows an OD grow to blend right in. Another nice thing is they put all the leaves and what not up high and do not really bush especially inside the patch. Makes it easy to clear out the center of the patch while still leaving the outside looking un disturbed.

I definitely check these for mold each time I go see them. I find red fuzzy stuff now and then for the stag horn sumac that grows as a cover for them. So far not a hint of bud rot but then again they really haven't budded up rather just starting to bud. I plan to give them end rot nutes for tomatoes as well. He also mentioned this before I told him I had a pink bud red stem plant as did another grower I gave a few plants too. "How's the White Rhino and BBxPH plants doing?" Well after a night of gusting winds and rain that broke tree limbs and even displaced a window in one of my apartments I was worried that the nasty winds would have ravaged my ladies. To my delight they where just fine when I checked on them. The Nebula was tipped a bit and may be taken at the end of they week after drying out. Forecast calls for sun for the balance of the week. She will have been strong flower a good 5 wks. I'm sure tripps can let me know if that's a good time for her as he is failure with this strain. If not I'll have to girdle her so she wont touch the ground with he buds and get mold. The others will need a few more weeks at the minimum to finish and the White Rhino is just budding so it will be late Oct for her at the earliest.

Hope that's a typo. :rotf: If I get 8 weeks with my outdoor I'll be happy, prob let it go 9, 10 indoors. W Russian and Nebula very similar in flowering speed and length, I got lucky, picked 2 very compatible strains when I bought seeds.

It was and it's fixed. Lol. I'll try and let her go a bit more then at least till 1st or 2nd week of Oct as long as she stays mold free. So far not a hint of it on any of them. The p tool must be used especially around harvest time.

I finally got a break from the rain and went again to the grow site and took some Nebula pollen to pollinate the the BlueBerryxPurpleHaze's lower bud sites. It's seeds will be BBxPHxN and that's a bit much so I will call it Blue Nebula Haze.
The others are growing real nice budcicles. White Rhino is finally putting out buds. Sure is taking it's sweet fraking time.
The buds are smelling good on all the ladies and getting real sticky.

After a week of sun and warm a few day of cold & wet for the ladies. They are doing goodand are putting on bud weight. I did start some mold setting in on the Nebula. No too surprising as it a short plant and gets the least amount of sun. She got culled and trimmed and is now drying out for good in a dark dry place.

Nice Cy 2thumbs
Bud rot is a bastard but at least it was minimal. Like anyone who first comes across bud rot you instantly think you're on a low yield, only to find out it was minimal.
IMO you did right to chop it. I wouldn't wanna be smoking the chems that stop bud rot :2cents:

Nebula must be a little more prone than others, when I got it indoors, the Nebula was most pronounced, and it's also the only one among the 5 gal bucket plants that had a touch. Hopefully the great weather will continue.

It was pretty minimal as I caught it early. :D Lost maybe a 1/4th ounce. The plant overall was a runt of the grow too. The other are 3x bigger and with more heavy bud sites. I'm keeping a good eye on them for rot as well but so far so good. I really have no interest in smoking any chems either.

Supposed to be sunny all week until Saturday then a little rain and then more sun for a while more. :D

Guys it must have been the weather as well as the growing guide being tight. Paradise state 'Indoors, outdoors between 50 NL and 50 S'.
They also say that its known to be grown outdoors in Holland and with a claimed harvest time of mid October, but the weather in Holland is much the same as September:
Fall comes by taking thermometers down to an average high of 19ºC and an average low of 9ºC in September. It will also rain about 12 days this month, so don't forget your umbrella! October drops averages down to 15ºC/7ºC and maintains precipitations at 7.0 cm.
I have nothing bad to say about Paradise seeds, but maybe tightening up on descriptions of what's good for Indoor, Greenhouse AND outdoors should be tightened up a little

I'm sure it is the weather Mr Burns. Wet and damp and cool forecast for the week and sure enough it is today with rain thrown in for good measure.
Yesterday was not raining but cool and damp none the less. I checked on the ladies and all seemed well at first. Getting bigger packing on bud weight. :D
Then I went back behind them and saw more Fuggin bud rot.
Decided to pull the two ladies that where nearly finished then and there. I left White Rhino to try and finish out on her own. She was not anywhere near ready so no point to take her. She also was completely Bud Rot free. :D

After pulling the girls due to the bud rot issue I had to trim them and let them dry. When I pull them it's literal they get pulled root ball and all. Where they grow is a place behind my sisters garage so I am careful to remove any evidence they where there in case anyone should nose about in that area. It's very unlikely but I leave nothing to chance after all she was kind enough to let me grow them there in the first place provided she gets some of their toke. ;)
The Nebula form the week before is dry enough to go into a curing/storage jar. :D

Here are two White Russian and a Dynamite that got trimmed and are now hanging and drying with the others. These plants where ones (my aborted ID grow) that I took to a friend during an security issue and where grown out doors at his place. ;) All that remains now is a single White Rhino that has to still finish. Fortunately the weather is forecast to break (wet damp and rain) after today and be sunny and warmer for several days. :D

She is at a smoke able point now but with sun and relatively warm weather forecast for a week at least I'm gonna let her grow out some till then. As soon as it starts with cold damp and rain again she is out of there. I gave her some flower nutes today as well as removed a few lower buds that showed some signs of mold. :D
As for the ladies that where trimmed and drying they are now in their curing jars. In the pic from left to right it is. Texada Time warp (from a reveg), Nebula, Wild Trip, Blue BerryxPurple haze, White Russian (Gallon jar:D), Dynamite, and some White Willow and other schwag buds (No need for schwag now!).
Last is a pic of some seeds a friend sent me that will be for my next grows along with White Russian (Of Course), Wild Trip, and BlueBerryxPurpleHaze.
The seeds in pack from left to right are Early Girl by Nirvana seed co, Power Plant (for my Hydro grow op), BrainStorm both from Dutch Passion seed co, and Most anticipated by me UK Cheese by Big Buddha seed co. It's gonna be one helluva grow season for next year OD and very soon for Indoor! :music: Just need an Afgan Orange or AO cross to complete my OD wish list. :D

Looking good Cy Nothing better than seeing the end product in jars :)
BTW that Big Buddha Cheese or 'BBC' is reportedly the closest you can get to the clone only UK cheese and was created from the 'clone only' cheese.
The Cheese is the UK #1 strain, which we crossed with our pure Afghani male.
Two years of selective backcrossing has allowed us to isolate specific traits we loved from the cheese. The Big Buddha Cheese Feminised retains its mothers old skool taste and, with the help of Afghani, has a higher overall yield than the original cheese mother.
'About the Daddy'
The Afghani used in our breeding program was a true landrace Afghani acquired by an older member of the crew.
This person was responsible for bringing back tonnes of Afghan border hash into the UK during the 80's.
In one of his shipments he had requested some seeds to be bought over, eventually, in one of the several consignments, this was granted when he found a leather pouch containing a good handful of seeds.
After giving some out to various associates at that time, he ended up keeping a little amount in a photo film case.
I myself have known this guy since I was 15, but it wasn't till around 2000 when I was given theses seeds to try out. I didn't start them till I had enough room..... around a year later!
Surprisingly, out of about 50 seeds, 29 germinated, and out of these were a selected female and a highly admirable male, which just had the most 'vigour' out of all the Afghani's!
The reason why we kept this Afghani male was because we knew that this would be true breeding stock, and more importantly, it was our own genetics!!!
For years we were pushing out this Afghan female, until it eventually was going around everywhere being called different names such as 'The Kush' and also 'The Kali' due to its pungent sweet fruity hash taste!
Highly desirable, this was going on until I created The Big Buddha Cheese....the rest is history!!!
I've grown Greenhouse seeds Cheese and its feck all like the UK cheese :2cents: I'm looking forward to seeing this version grown out buddy :) Good luck :gthumb:
