Ok, now I have another question cause this bugs me a bit, still being friends with Mel and all, and because I mentioned it to CB but still see nothings been done.
Now, I've gone through and found a few other members whos accounts were closed for whatever reason. Most dont say why the members acct was closed, but that is the least of my complaint.
My complaint comes from knowing that some of these members were banned for something they'd done wrong on this site, but then seeing that only Mels avator wears the Bars.
If they were only put on there to rub salt in the wounds of the banned, purpose served and its time to remove them, or just remove me. Sorry, seems like a childish joke thats served its course IMO....

still sorting the code for that group shadows..... none should have the bars and never have in the past.... all the coders are updating there wares and some make changes to them....


I will poke around today in the 400+ templates and see if i can sort where it's pulling that from....

if this is what you were pointing at with above post:we do not log ips'...meaning ya cant be banned..... we do not log ip's our members get banned by refusing access to there username not the ip.when said username tries to log in it redirects to what we call the miserable user forum only.

Thats fine, you closed his account, put no banned message under his screen name, but through bars up on his avator. I've expressed my feelings to Mel on this situation and then turned right around and expressed my feelings here considering the situation.

So please, continue to protect these boards as you see fit, I just ask you dont make a public display of the beheading for people to come by and toss tomatoes...

To be perfectly honest,I wasnt aware of the bars on his avi until I read post #5 here.That is something that Ive never seen before on a miserable user,must be in the codeing of vb or possibly an option that wasnt disabled.Im sure CB will have it nailed down ASAP.

I cant speak for everyone but for myself there is no glee, nor glamour, or enjoyment what so ever, in pushing one of our own out of the circle.I think of everyone hear as a freind and comrade,and am proud to be aquainted with each and every one.I have 0 bad feelings for mel,never have,infact, I went to bat for mel, until i was presented with the pix,among other items.

There is a grave lesson to be learned here,be very careful with your username.Do not use the same name at non weed sights.Just out of curiosity,google your username,and you will see why this is so important.that gooogle search will pull every post you have made under that name.If you use the same name across the board,it could very easily expose personal information that has no place on these boards.If your freind can find it,so can jonny law who is looking frantically for this type of incompetence.

Be safe ya'll,think about things before hand.

Thanks, bro. One more question, hopefully irrelevant, LOL. So is the point of that first post that if a user name is banned, that person is welcome to try over with a new username, 0 rep, etcetra. Just curious, cause what set me off on "the last site" was a statement that anyone who is aware of a banned member using a new name, who does not report them, will be banned. That really set me off, big time. LOL I asked if we really wanted to be a community of informants. It was problematic for me, 'cause I happen to have an unnatural talent for recognizing people by their personality, writing style, interests, etc. I spotted a former member in a new name 4 times, 5 if you count the one that was banned on the second post, the instant banning was the clue. LOL A mod who was answering the post, that I told "that was ***" asked "I know now, but how the hell did you know?" Every time I asked this banned member, she said, yeah, it's me, you're the first/only one who picked up on it. I was kinda proud of myself, now I'm being told I have to use it to be a stool pigeon.

Anyway, just curious, I know you guys have to walk a fine line, I don't know if could do it, to paraphrase the late Mayor Daley, " I am not here to cause disorder, I am here to preserve disorder".

Edit: BTW, I don't even know Mel, but I saw the pic, unless he's brand new and confused, he doesn't show a lot of promise as a cheater, I thought it was an inside joke or something, I can't see anyone not immediately recognizing that was a color filter, and I know zip about photography.

Im not 100% sure on that,I know you can turn around and log in as a guest after being put in MU catagory.As guest I dont think you can post or veiw pix,but the forums are open to browse.But to answer your question Yes a new name constitutes a new user.Cb may have other tatics imployed to deter that senorio,i dont know.

yep,as mid said...was a code that needed changing...this was updated not to long ago and things needed tweaking;)

it was not intentional by us here...thats not the way are minds tick;)but we are sorry and apologize but all sorted now.

i to was gutted we had to let Mel go but with everything in mind it was the only outcome.

all the time we've been here only a handful has had to go.we try to stay away from the other shit that gos down on other grow sites altogether.

pretty simple like...what yas see in the post guidelines is how it gos.

if we all follow them which we have for the best part,,,then alls well n Rosey in the garden.

I'm sure it wasn't the doctored POTM pic tripps that did him in. I believe it was 2 pics he posted that when put together showed another member of the forum. :eek: I think thats what got him tossed. Too bad to as Mel was a nice/fun member. A tough call for the staff here but member security/safety I'm sure reins above all here as it should. :cool:

Snitches are the last thing I would want on a MJ site as a member or staff. If I got word of one being welcome and encouraged by the staff here I'd be long gone. I have way to much riding on it to take any chances. If they are low enough to snitch about someone with a double or second account what else and to whom would they snitch on/to if they felt it would benefit themselves. :eek: I don't think that's the case here. I just don't get that vibe from CB and the others. If Mel does come back in another form from the MU area (I hope he does as he was a friend) I hope he learns from these photo mistakes and gets back into the grow with us! :D

where to start.......... like cranky said alot of upgrades have been done since we upgraded vb itself, we run alot of 3rd party software as well and those coders updated and tweaked there ware's and we have to sort it back to how we want it....

so in this case I updated MU software but havnt updated to the forum for it to reflect upon all in MU list.... me bad

I was pm'd about it and started search'n the problem out but have been real short on time..... I work at least 14 hours a day on sat/sun so didn't get much done with sort'n it.... me bad again

mondays i have banker hours so got around to it today :o

might have seemed mel was singled out but he wasnt.... just a victim of new upgrades and my lack of time.... we have never made a public display out of those in that user group and never plan to..... sorry it happened this time but no one is to blame really....

also to clear up another thing..... the POTM piccy had NOTHING to do with why.....

probly the must gut'd by this is me.... we go back alot of years and when the staff voted I felt like just shut'n down hgb and move'n on.... not worth lose'n a good friend over IMO:mad:

as for multi accounts..... yes we do know when i user has them 99.99% of the time and as long as all is good then no probs.... (another 3rd party software;))

as for snitch's.... well they get the MU option here as we wont have it or stand for it here period. we just want to grow are herb and inter react with fellow growers as adults.. all get many chance's here.... might be under new/diff name but the chance's are always there and a few have used many and still a member here trust me:)

bottom line is we have never branded anyone for anything ever here.... just didn't catch some stuff on upgrade'n software,real sorry it happened all
