Thats right, a new president takes oath with his hand on the bible. A lot like we would if taking stand in a court room. To bad his/her ass cannot be penalized for perjury just like we would after such an event.
And may I ask, why they use the bible for such a ceremony, when they try so hard to remove its presence from our lives?
My wife and I were discussing this the other day, but its amazing how the US has changed over the years. Mostly in the minds of those living in it, not presiding over it. 40-50 years ago we never would have stood for half the shit going on. There would be riots and protests, getting national news coverage, towards the war we've thrown ourselves into and our slack ass worthless president. But today, we know that we will be met with FORCE. Not the passive force from days before tho, nope, our Boys in Blue are sporting shit that will take down any riot without using deadly force. Instead they'll just pummel your ass with rubber bullets, like target practice for the future...
In light of Global Warming, I say bring it on. Thats the only force left that our government has no clue how to stop.

Humans turn to sheep baaaa
Society becomes divided and twisted
the upper class wants the divisoin to widen between the poor
..eliminate the middle class

The bible thing is a farce, I agree, recently there has been some noise about it.. a politician wanted to be sworn in on another religous script the right went bannanas

On a last edit...anyone check out "Boston Legal" last night? was a good one...town wanting to secede from the US. Very good debate there. Loyalty, patriotism, and treason....difference?. Very good show it was last night ;)
