spring is here again

and that means a lot of my handicapped friends and myself will be out and about more, riding our mobility scooters. please, please, be a bit more careful.

if you are stopped at a red light, turning right at a corner, please look both ways and not just to the left towards oncoming traffic.

please don't don't roll across the cross walk when you come to a red light. when I'm crossing at a red light, I always ride the farthest white stripe in case someone rolls through it. those ten feet mean a lot. to some it's two seconds. to us, it's our lives.

we are riding these things for a reason. if we are handicapped or old, we can not, and I use can not instead of can't for a reason, we can not jump out of the way dudes.

all I'm asking is just to be a bit more careful than usual.

imagine how you would feel if you took out a handicapped person, or an older person. you wouldn't want to have to live with that forever would you? ten seconds of being careful can spare you from a life time of regret and guilt.

of course, if you took me out, mrs. wakka would make sure you wouldn't have to live with it very long.

No sweat bro. Will keep a lookout...used to be a hawg rider here till little pup...but always keep an eye out for those less visible ;)

I know us able-bodied folk tend to take things for granted too. I will definately slow down and keep a better eye out.

dude, I would kill for a scooter that just had shocks. with tires at sixty pounds, each crack in a sidewalk can really pound on your kidneys after just a short time.

and if I ever do get taken out, it will be by someone in a white s u v, talking on the phone and hitting an eight dollar cup of coffee from starfucks.
