made some hash using only gravity. did the whole ice thing mixing in the trim and beating the heck out of it. screened out the trim and let the trichs settle overnight then i siphoned off the water being careful to stay about 1/4 to 1/2 in. deep. i used to filter all this water threw coffee filters and that took hours and hours of filtering. when i got to the bottom of the 5 gallon bucket i swirled it around to get the trichs off the bottom and poured it into a smaller container thats a little less than a gallon. let the trichs settle again siphoned again and when i got about 1/4in. above the trichs i put it threw the coffee filter witch took 1 min to filter compared to hours. these pics were taken as soon as i was finished it has a bit of drying to do but i sampled it and its great

after letting it dry a bit on my cable box i tried a pressing method i seen on
u-tube. basicaly wrap the hash in wax paper and tape it so it dont open up. put it in the microwave for 10 sec maybe more depending on the microwave
take it out and roll it with a rolling pin let it sit for 15-20 min to cool down and repeat 10-sec and roll let cool and unwrap. bam you got hash:D let this cure for a few days then its ready for storage:cool:;)

Very cheap, effective way of making hash! Same way I used to go about it, except I'd have 5-6 coffee filters draining at a time, then rinse them all after popping the hash off and filtering the rinse water.

me to but it takes way to long waiting for those filters they always get cloged
this way i might lose some trichs when i siphon it but its not even enough to worry about i filtered the water i siphoned and there wasnt even enough to collect. once i siphon off the water it took 2 min in a coffee filter to get the most of the water out and collect the hash, all in all its just less time consuming it takes hours to filter it all threw coffee filters;)

Hehe you been busy ;gonna do my second batch soon but looking @ yours you got a good bit of green in there too I am gonna eradicate that next time round! the best way to do that is freeze the fresh cut green leaves and crush em by hand no mechanics; all the same you would have to travel far and wide to find hash like that , pure unadulterated well done:gthumb:2thumbs

it was your thread its not beer that got me off my ass i had trim sitting here for months i did freeze it but im only using a paint straining bag to get the trim out so a little green makes it threw but its alright with me like u said i aint gonna find anything that isnt contaminated with something so homeade is the best ;)

Ohh, got a goodie for you here....

Go to the grocery store and in the same isle you buy the paper coffee filters, they have reusable coffee filters. They are plastic with a mesh screen in the bottom and on the sides. I noticed while using one that my coffee always had some tiny grounds in the bottom of the pot. So I tried it as the final filter, before settling or filtering for hash and it cleans out A LOT of green matter. It even collects some bits that "look" like hash mash, but it provided no buzz outside of smoking fan leaves.

Try that 1 time, your hash ball will dry out to a nice gray color.

More tips bubble bags are a rip off. go down to the local art shop buy a silk screen mesh by 1 metre 70 microns it will cost about £6/$10 most bubble bags you buy use 70 in the final bag but if you are game and got time 50 microns is even better.:)

p.s what we are producing now is more like 90/120 microns,work it out.

i cant find any silk screen at any of the local art shops gonna have to order online i went looking about a month ago was gonna make my own bubble bags. i use those filters to its just the paint straining bag has to big a micron but we live and learn its my 3rd time at it and i get better each time:D but thanks for the info bro and enjoy your treats to;)

Hey now, I care, lol. Honestly tho, IMO the taste is effected by that green/brown matter that ends up in the hash. Get it out of there and see if you notice the difference, I always did (but could be cause I knew it was different?)

i totaly agree but i wasnt shooting for gold just cheapo ghetto hash just using things i had on hand;) sometimes i use my grinder and get kif and thats the real deal no green matter there and yes it does taste better:rolleyes: but my ghetto hash is still much better than any contaminated
