Allow me to present my grow conditions and equipment.

Equipment
-1 600W hps
-2 RVK fans (150 for exhaust and 100 for intake)
-1 cab (3x2.5feet)

The grow consists of 4 Shiva Shanti females 2 1/2 weeks into flowering.

Conditions
-80F-85F day
-70F-75F night
RH
25%-40% day
30%-55% night

Nutes
-Biobizz's Biogrow (vegging)
-Biobizz's Biobloom (flowering)
-Biobizz's Topmax (flowering)

So far so good folks.
Stay tuned for pic and more info as the grow goes along from here.

May the green be with you!

Are you using the Bio-Grow through the flower period?

Hello Mr Burns

To answer your question...
Yes, but not all the way. I tend to use BioGrow only for the first 2 weeks of flowering, then step over to BioBloom after a nice flush.
But see the thing here is that I tried another method this time.
I grew the Shivas from seed in small half liter containers and flowered them for a week in those containers til sex showed.
Then i used fresh soil with Vermiculite and transplanted. Because the rootball was quite compact, the transplant went pretty smooth.
So I barely Fed them any BioGrow until all the roots were nicely spread and worked their way into the soil.
As a result they 'have' stretched but for me it hasnt turned out so bad.
Once i get this grow chopped and stashed (im currently out of weed and have been for ages), I can concentrate on getting back into the rhythm.
Thanx for stoppin by fella.

Thank you for stopping by cranky,
I wont dissapoint with results ;)
Ill try adding 1ml of Biogrow per liter of water on the next feed :) then next week, I'll just use biobloom and topmax.

As for the update, well i have a few pictures for you all.
Hope you enjoy them :)

I use 1ml pl of Bio-Grow along with my Top max and Bio-Bloom. In fact I'm going to use it to the end.
Have you used Bizz products this way before Cel? I'm no seasoned expert, but interested.

Burnsy.

Cel

Hey Burnsy

I actually haven't. I'm quite new to the biobizz range and was introduced to it by Cranky about 2 grows back.
I hope to get a bit more easy of use with Biobizz and it has helped so far :)
Ill be sure to share any new revelations i have.

Well, i Do have some fucked up news :(
I've had herrendous experience with hermies in the past, from 1 plant pollenating a whole crop to all plants turning out hermie.
Well, i have come to a very odd conclusion.
I THINK I've mixed up the beans!
I dont think im actually growing the Shiva here!
I think I'm growin the 'Double Gum' which went horribly wrong last time
Take a look at those pics...
Looks hermie to me, and funny enough, it's showing those signs exactly when the Double Gum started showing them.
Fuckin either Cheap seeds, or fuckin same seeds as last time!
I'm NEVER buying my seeds from Sensiseeds.com again! NEVER!
So due to my no hermie tollerance, i decided to dump the one plant showing hermie signs, just incase i miss one pod and it pops the pollen all over the grow.
I need a strong strain, one that can take abuse, and not go hermie on me :(
I honestly don't know what i did wrong here.
Conditions are perfect, plenty of lumen (10600Lumen per square foot infact) and no pests.
I just dont know...:(

Well folks, nothing new to report, conditions and everything are still the same.
So now I got 3 ladies flowering (after the hermie loss) and thought id share this delightful pic with you guys :)
enjoy...

I gotta say, they look hermie to me Cel.

Cel
11-17-2005, 05:27 PM
So far so good Burnsy!

The others are not showing any hermie signs what so ever...
One of them is even starting to properly Trich up :)
So fingers crossed i still get some smoke out of this grow. Then next grow, ill make DAMN sure they all pull through to the end of flowering :D
and approaching week 5 of flowring woot woot!

Cel

Cel

hey hey folks, im back with another update, and yet a few more pics :)

I'm happy to be able to say that no more hermies have occured, so i would assume that the total number of plants to pull through to harvest will be 3 out of 4.
Which isnt all that bad i must say.
Today is the 2nd day of week 5, and we have trich production goin which is allways nice to see :D
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=359&stc=1&d=1132661665
Been runnin really low on weed lately, infact, i havent had a propper bud smoke for a good 5 days now, and MAN is it hard not to pinch a bud!
I guess its not really worth it since the buds havent even fattened up yet, so i think ill wait a lil more n smoke my bong grease for now ;)
Conditions remain unchanged and perfect like i expected which is also good news.
So here are a few pics for you fine people to enjoy 2thumbs

I bet your looking forward to trying it Cel. I have to say, I was too generous with my last harvest so I'm a little light myself. I'm dragging out what I have like a castaway.

Glad to hear the conditions are stable. I'm sure having a decent venting system is no1 to a successfull grow room and I see your running two RVKs.

Looking good and a nice picture of the hairs!

Burnsy.

well Burnsy...

You were very right about that ^_^
I decided to blaze some of it, and i really had a hard time chosing the right bud lol
Well here it is fresh and ready in the bowl.

For being 5 weeks and defenatley not mature...this shit blew my head right off :-/ I'm quite surprised, since i have smoked premature bud before and it wasnt even close to this strength...maybe its cuz i hadnt smoked for a while?
Well I'm not complaining :D

Anyways...
Still no hermies and still goin great condition wise woot woot!

LOL no mate, i micro dried it ^_^ I've tried wet before, but u dont get it al burning evenly, yet the taste is better that way.

ok im now taking bets....im putting 20 bucks down saying hes got about 1.5 plants left to harvest by the time he reaches chop chop day
HAHAHAH, shit man, did u really have to start a betting? now i can't smoke 1 plant n claim it went hermie :o
hehehe, no, i'm gonna do my total best to keep my hands off those plants til harvest time mate. I'm determined to stash, and if i smoke it all before its ready, i can put that idea right out of my head lol

Ahhh, its nice to be motivated to post some pics and a grow report ^_^
Thanx Burnsy ;)

to answer your question...
YES! they are! :D
I'm quite chuffed actually, the buds have grown alot in 2 days, and instead of lil Calyx's they actually start to look like real buds now.
I sampled some 'again' :o and my o my is it strong!
I'm gonna have one of my good buddies round to give a verdict on the 'amsterdam weed' my buddy brought around  LOL
Here is a lil eye candy to judge for yourself :)

The untouched plant.

http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=597&stc=1&d=1133775784

I'm sorry for those peculiar dark lines...I think its the HPS that does that :(
It's such a pain, even an 8 megapixel Cam doesnt seem to be able to remove them

Ohh and its week 7 now woohoo 2thumbs

Cel

Cranky
12-05-2005, 06:26 AM
oi oi matey....i prefer looking at those plants anyday compared to them fukin spiders of yours:eek:

aye up bro,you should have a light setting on your cam.....set it to tungsten and that should get rid of your lines and will also get rid of that orange glow.

what cam ya got mate?

Ohh and its week 7 now woohoo

They look like a couple of weeks away Cel? :hmmmm: Looking nice though and as I've said before, theres some good looking buds on this site compared to some I've seen. It wasn't that long ago I was handed some bud from a grower who knows not of my habits, he thought his buds were rock hard which they were, but rock hard through drought and not THC!
Looking at these pics has me wondering why I never did it before. Keep it going Cel cause they're preety lookin.

Cel
12-07-2005, 07:44 PM
Thanx alot Burnsy, i appreciate the positive input :)
I'm very glad with the results so far, and concerning the flower period...well this sunday will be the end of week 7, and ill be heading to the last week for 1 of the plants. YEap, the allready pinched plant.
The other 2 will go for another 2 weeks guaranteed. I wana pull as much as i can out of them.
As soon as I have chopped one, ill be positive to post some 'decent' close up's n show u all the frostyness, cuz there is quite alot of that now.
And Cranky bro, to answer your question...
I got a slick lil cam for 40 quid, its a german model Praktica DCZ 8VR
i tried ALL the bloody functions, but i cant get rid of that glare and the lines.
Bloody HPS lol
It DOES shoot some pretty decent macros, ill just need to takepictures in a diff light i guess
Either way, they are coming along just fine, and ill have some decent aftermath pics for you all :D thats a promise.

Too late checking in and having a seat but I'm here.

Too late to take that bet Cranky.....
I say he leaves it alone.....PLUS...let's them go an extra week

Nice garden you have there Cel....too bad I'm a little late, BUT...I'm here 2thumbs

Cel
12-09-2005, 02:32 AM
Late is never too late brother ;)
I'm glad you still got around tho :) *points to the comfy armchair*
Nobody took that bro, its all yours ^_^
I actually plan on growing this strain again, it is defenatley better than I expected.
Only dissapointment was the secondary growth. which i shall defenatley make up for by LSTing and vegging for lil longer and try n get those 2ndry growth a bit more developped before flowering.
Allmost week 8 now, and the buds are comin along just fine.
By the end of next week, 1 is gonna get the chop, and the new plants will be moved in.
I dont think ill get more than 1ounce per plant. So ill be sure to beat that next time :D
Thanx again for comin round Pro :)

Any luck with the new camera? I was qwondering whether a pictirial update could be made?

Cel
12-12-2005, 08:18 AM
Hey Burnsy

I still havent managed to fix the cam man,
But i done my best to take some half decent pics for an update.

Here is the tall one i had to break the neck of in order to maintain equal canopy.
If you look closely (sorry the pic is truly shit) on the left above the Thermometer u can see how the top is still growin while the 2ndary branches in the front have made good use of the sweet spot.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=723&stc=1&d=1134400536

And here is the other rather peculiar Shiva.
The hairs are so much thicker and fluffier.
The smell is defenatley the strongest of them all, and the trichs are sticky, they are rather oily. I'll be lookin forward to see how it smokes!!!
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=724&stc=1&d=1134400536

So yeah, just 1 week left.
I'm not sure tho to be honest. I had a look at the trichs on the 2nd plant, and they are 30% amber, but soooo many white hairs still.
What do u think Burnsy? should i wait the week? or will i end up with a couch lock bud?
The tall plant has all cloudy trichs and a few odd amber ones, so ill let that one go another week for sure.
I'm currently in the first day of week 8 now.

Hey cel, thought I was in on this, but apparently not. Sorry to have missed most of the show buddy, but glad im in for the finally!!

Generally speaking 30% amber is peak ripeness. Taken much after that and the high can degrade.

Hello folks,
It's been a little while, but I'm back with yet another delightfully smelling update ;)
today is day 54 of flowering for my ladies.
there was a slight dilema to face though, since I'm going away to my girl friend for the christmass hollidays tomorrow until wednesday, it would ruin my crop at the last minute.
The problem was watering, which I would be detrimental for 5 days.
So I consulted CB for some good advise, and he suggested I should simply water them a great bunch, and simply leave lights off for the time im not here to allow them to finish off properly.
It's a rather splendid Idea, only problem was that 1 of the plants was practically finished with mostly red hairs and 30%+ amber trichomes.

http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=807&stc=1&d=1134763634

http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=808&stc=1&d=1134763634

So she got the chop just a few hours ago.
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=809&stc=1&d=1134763634
But the other plant is going to remain in the cab in complete darkness til I get back.
I made this decision because it doesnt seem as ready as this one, too many white hairs still, and not enough amber trichs.

Well, I'm going to get ready and pack for my little trip, and hopefully seeing you great bunch on thursday :)
Have a great holliday.

LOLLL Burnsey and Cranky
you guys

I do actually have a 400W HPS with ballast for anybody that is interrested.
It's just takin space in my room to be honest, and i did offer it to cranky before, so if he doesnt want it in the near future, im willing to make a starting grower happy ;)

What concerns the grow...MAN O MAN! i ran out quickly! but i dont regret, the past month was high times all over again.
I luckily managed to share some with cranky, and a few buds here and there with some of my mates, but most of it is in my system, well, in the toilet now :o or a random pub toilet, maybe even a tree around the corner.
the point being, im gettin another grow goin, yeap, still at my house (since the big grow room is still under construction).
So this will be shiva 2nd round.

Dont get me wrong, i haven't just started now, I've actually gained 2 months during the smoke period, and been vegging and flowering for 3 weeks now.
So this is Shiva round two!

This time tho, i entirely put my mind to it and used past experiences and knowlege passed on to me by Mr cranky.
Yes, i been doin the HST.
been bendin and snapping like there is no 2moro, so instead of 1 main cola per plant like the last grow, i got 10 colas per plant at equal height and equal growth rate. then a couple dozen lil colas for the premature tendencies
http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1528&stc=1&d=1138122005

So in total, i think i may increase my yield by 3 or 4 times what i had last round. and I still dont know exactly how much i had last grow. I really needa get me a scale :(

What concerns the yellowing of leaves, well, i think i stopped the vegging nutes wayy too early, so i decided id give them a bit of Biogrow for now, since im only in week 4 now.
Hopefully i can keep the fans alive for another 2 weeks and then its countdown time ;)

well, ill be back with more, for more ;)

Cel
