View Full Version : should I be worried
if I see Yahoo slurp spider, Google spider, and this one really spooks me with it's name, turnitin.com looking and some my old threads
I kinda understand what they are but they still make me leary when I look at "who's on line" and one of those arachnids are looking at one of my old threads.. and the turnitin.. what's that about?

I'm not sure, but I think it's like this...
these are search engines looking thru the threads to satisfy thread queries... they are doing searches thru archives.
I think that's what it's all about... like it's the active searches going on right now for the queries in the forum.
but I'm prob wrong...

That's pretty much how i understand it too.. but the title on one of the engines gives me the willies... could narcs or even more frightinging, wanna be /vigilante types try to use this tech ? A small bunch of stoners spread out around the globe with small personal grows aren't worth the effort to the real LEO's

I wouldn't worry about it... I mean, come on... if you were really all that worried about it in the first place, would you have broadcast the info worldwide via the 'net that you may "possibly" be growing pot and not vegetables, like me ;) ?
don't worry about it, man... if something comes of it, just deal with it... sometimes, shit happens... it's always shit for me, but I just deal with it... and I'm still alive and growing house plants....

As for being worried I think not but all the same I think we should block all spiders and bots because they use up lots of bandwidth,we are not selling anything and as for an aid in recruiting members its shyte, only causes a few guests to find us and a heap of suspicion, most members get here from word of mouth:2cents:

hey reub, I know what ya say'n bro... first year we didn't allow google/yahoo/ect on the site:) they are pretty limited now on what the can see and do and we don't encourage them at all.. most site's display them as guest but I don't as I like to see what there up to at times... as for bandwidth they don't use anything, there just web crawlers and pretty much how the WWW works...
last time the mass's wanted it, why i turned it on, but have no prob with turn'n it back off if the mass want;) tiss just a mouse click to me like:D
