The Asociación Ramón Santos de Estudios Sobre el Cannabis (ARSEC), established in Barcelona in 1994, is one of the country's leading pro-marijuana groups, advocating legalisation, and serving as a clearing-house for information and research. It is named after a lawyer who actively defended people charged with possession of marijuana during the early Seventies, under the dictatorship.
"A considerable amount of protection is granted to what people do in the privacy of their own homes,” said Jaume Torrens, a co-founder of ARSEC. “Under Spanish law, police officers cannot enter your house or come onto your private land without a warrant or unless you have committed a flagrant crime.
“So I can go out on to my terrace, wave down at the cop on the street, show him the porro I'm smoking, and all he can do is wave back and say, ‘Buenos dias.' But beware, for the issue gets tricky when the officer is allowed to determine if what you're doing is for personal use or intended for distribution, which is illegal, and they can also arrest you if your cannabis activities or possession are outside of your private domain.”

That sounds like a quiet decent way to deal with the situation:cool:what you do in your house is your business wish it was like that here but we live in a nanny state:yack:
Not a bad way to do it. Then it never becomes a "public" issue.
