Well.....i have remained my hubby's helper long enough....and he threw down the hammer and said....its time to learn to clone woman....you can do it...

I was sat in a chair....a mum set in front of me...and told ...DO IT

So....here i am doing my first grow from start to end (supervised by the hubby)

I took some shiskaberry clones....used Wilson rooting gel and peat pucks....transplanting tomorrow...

Heres my new babies....i am such a proud mummy....after all my fear of cloning....i now know that i can do it!!!

these shots....3 days after cutting :o

Well done Ldy. Did you get thta kinda warm feling when they first shown roots? I did, I wet myself

So now you're on a roll and intending to go the whole 9 yards what's the set up? Nutes on your part of the world I don't recognise, but It'd be interesting to hear what the room set up is.

Congrats in the cloning. You could label the most vigorous ones and then clone the fastest flowering ones from that bunch. It's what I'd do.

3 days  damn fine bunch of roots at that;)

good job there LdyLunatic2thumbs i might have to give those peat pellets ago one day for sure.i use a 100% peat baed soil for rooting as it is so i might as well give a try as ive seen some peeps have great results with um.

shall also be about for this one;)

good luck(like ya need it:rolleyes: )

and only 3 days to get roots like  .....

grow on indeed......

01-24-2006, 12:05 PM
thanks for the kudos fellas :o

after using these peat pellets again the hubby is now swearing by using them always for cloning....we did some right into soil also and had no where near the success as with the pellets....so pellets it is now

Set-Up

1000 watt HPS Burns (not that this means all that much to me....i just know its damn bright) :p

when transplanted last night an organic mix was used (Pro-Mix) and some worm castings were mixed in the soil

After a couple days of veg we will be putting some Guano (bat poop) on the top of the soil....trying to mix your Guano in the soil is hard....so hubby has decided to put one tablespoon on the surface of each pot....this was used before in this way and had EXCELLENT results

All nutrients used are Advanced Nutrients....and when watering carboload is mixed in the water to add weight

*i am sure i am not telling you all i need to.....but i will have to learn more to be able to pass it along* ;)

U know, i actually went by the grow shop here and the guy was swearing by them aswell!
Now i regret i didnt pick any up :(
I think ill go back 2moro n see whether he has any left!
will come in useful for gaining a few days in the growing process!
Nice stuff Ldy, that seriously rocks!
It seems im still on time for gettin a frontrow seat, so consider this thread subscribed along CB's :D

Cel

yeah.....i am still shocked too at how fast the roots popped....even the hubby was floored....he has always had good success with rooting right in the soil mix...but this time we tried a few of both....almost all of the ones dropped in soil did not root ...they still haven't rooted

when i took the clones i also did one thing that the hubby swears by....take a razor and lightly score the stem that will be covered...this helps root faster...score the stem after dipping in your clone gel....

i also re-dipped in the gel after scoring

Hey Ldy,

Pellets are the shit you want to use. They are IMO the best for cloning and or seeding. Those have some great roots exploding beyond the borders. Shiskaberry is a fantastic strain .......yummy. Will follow along.

sweet find there where did ya find a 100 sack?all i found at walmart anyway is a 12 count bag for $1.95.

LdyLunatic
02-02-2006, 01:07 PM
i do believe zen picked them up at the garden centre.....and he likes to pick up these packs because they are sealed....we may have to buy a big pack but he prefers a closed bag....everywhere around here you can buy them in bulk...but mostly they are in big boxes that are OPEN and exposed fully in the garden shop

closed packages make for leaving behind all the bugs and possible contaminants easier

how do u mix the molasses water and where can i get this material from ? since im sure u speak from experience i would really like to use this method to get those sticky sweet bud results. peace mann.

ps. just flushed my grow this morning and wish i knew then what i know now. damn.:D

LdyLunatic

high2dsky....you can get molasses at the grocery store...used for cooking ;) and it is found in the baking aisle...you want Organic or Blackstrap

we fill the bucket with water and add about 1 teaspoon per gallon...it takes a good stir to mix it...its some thick stuff..and we have also found that adding the molasses corrects the pH to 6.5 (approx)

after we have leeched the plants out in the tub (as shown above) we still add molasses to the water for the next week..

if you don't leech the way we do in the tub you can just use this molasses mix for the last week minimum...up to two weeks (Leeching- we run water through the pots till its CLEAR...ensuring all nutrients we gave are completely flushed out of the soil)

http://www.alexander-essentials.com/images/meridian-organic-blackstrap-molasses.jpg

heres an example of what the molasses looks like...but there is many different manufacturers and the bottles all look pretty different...so just ask at the grocery store if you can't find it...remember Organic or Blackstrap ...don't buy the fancy expensive molasses...too many additives we DON'T want

a jar of molasses will run under 5 bucks...and give you about 100 gallons worth of mix (maybe more...this is a rough estimate)

for the price and how sweet and smooth the flavor..definitely worth 5 bucks ;)

didnt know leeching was the term , but i use the same exact method. thanks for the info on the molasses. im only one block for a grocery store so ill be heading out tonite, making sure to pick up a bottle of that. thanks again. big help.

Man I must really live in a cave er sumthin... leaching with sorghum? (round these here parts, we call it sorghum)
Is this done with certain strains only?
I've seen threads about this but never paid attention to them... seemed like everyone wanted to throw in their two cents on a flavor... someone even metioned using soda pop to flush with! Come on now... WTF!
I mean I like Mountain Dew and all.. but I'm not gunna use it to flush my MJ roots!

But ya know what.... sorghum cookies are awful tasty.... Mmmm.... so I'm interested in hearing a smoke report.
Mmmmmm cookies.... it's just after 6am right now... can I have cookies for breakfast? :p

Zen's pot was the first stuff that i have had that has had molasses used...IMO it has a sweeter taste with no harshness to it all, the smell is nicer on your nose too when you smoke it...i swear it tickles my nose when i breathe it in ;)

Not sure why it works or how (maybe zen will jump in here) but i swear it makes a difference in overall smoothness :trust: ;)
