I just picked up a new toy..prooly a waste of money but looked cool so I had to buy it..hmm..$8 sumtin

I have not opened the individual cubes but it looks like some kind of gel stuff that is supposed to have some nutes and rooting promoter in it...it looks like you just stick the clone in the gel..that's it. I don't have anything to clone at the moment..but will soon...so this lil experiment will have to wait...just wanted to post it up.

yup..www. planterspride. ca...made in the U.K. too!!..these were shipped from canada..in U.K. I guess is SupraPlants imported by PlantersPride.
these I found at a place called called Menards..like a home depot competitor..btw..I use planterspride mycor..pretty interesting company.
I almost bought a cool looking pH-N-P-K test kit too..looked like it would be a lot more accurate than the old capsule b/s..I had it in my cart..but flashbacks of using the caps made me rethink and put it back..but will prolly go back and get it..even if only for thr flowerbeds outdoors...but didn't catch the name..I'll google it l8r in case anyone wants to see it..It def could could in handy.

I guess I could just take a clipping before sexing in a week or two just to check them out..if it turns out female..cool..if not..eh.

ok..I was reading this...it looks like you have to use your own rooting powder. I wondering how these things are gone plant..and how multiple planting would turn out....one advantage I can see over a water clone is the the gel might keep the roots separated some.
they look pretty cool..but I still think theyre prxy...it almost looks like water polymer crystals w/o the crystals..shell..w/e..a big crystal..haha.:D :smoke1: ...polymer pudding!!

You sure you have to use your own rooting powder for that stuff, zoom? On the website, in the "Handy Hints" section, is specifically says: "Do Not use hormone rooting powder. It is not needed and will possibly kill your cuttings."

:: shrug :: Just thought i'd point that out. I'm curious about these. I wonder how easy it is to get them out. I wonder how long they'd survive in one of those?  :electric:

Growth Technolagy have a product called root matrix, looks similar. The gel is great for holding cuttings healthily and roots do come eventually. It was three weeks before they put out roots.
Gel 4 plugs as well, would probibly be the best. Its for use with cubes, just fill each cube and pop a cut in.That stuff will hold em for ya but as I said,it will take forever to get roots.
But thats just from lookin, it could be exelllant.Goodluck!
I post a link for gel 4 pulgs, its about somewere! Its as I say great as you just soak ur cubes for awhile squeeze a wee bit of gel in and voila.Roots in 7-10 days.
I agree Gorilla cuttings are easily killed by hormone or gel.Idealy there should be enough hormone within the cut to root. Not fussed on em at all,ive had better results without!

Id soak some cubes, make some sort of device to get the gel inside.Id even just use something sterile and fill the hole with the gel.Because of the amount of gel in those packs it would'nt be suitable to put cuts in they will dye with that amount of gel.
Pack ur cubes and youll have roots much quicker, use prop as normal. The gel shrinks some times, make sure theres enough after a day or two you might need to put a bit more on top.Goodluck whatever way!
