Ok read about letting water set out to get rid of the chlorine. Boiling as well.
Well, Whats the best method for using city tap water? Wnat the cholrine out, but don't wanna mess up the beasties. Thanks guys for your replies ahead of time.

and one last question.
Only perlite i found was MG (I'm cursed :( )
You think rinsing the perlite alot will get rid of the pre-fert they put on it? Yes!!! PRE-FERT CHEM PERLITE...WTF!!!! Written on the bag..guess I'm asking if its coated or injected...can't find much info on it.

washing it out is the best you can do, and I would go for it.

bubble your water for a day instead of just letting it sit. I think this speeds up the process of evaporating the chlorine and would probably be a more sustainable habitat for the beasties. lol.

Yes, use some air on the water to rid chlorine.

As for the MG enhanced perlite..... no worries on that stuff mate..... tis all I can find around here too..... a rinse will help a bit yes..... but theres really not enuf MG in that stuff to really harm your grow.

If you can find some vermiculite, in place of perlite, that would work too.

I bubble all water for 24 hours no matter what... city water norm is 24 hours sit time but bubbles can help and never harm;)

only use FF chunky perlite here so cant help on that, but it doesn't sound like the MG stuff is to harsh but then again chem's shouldn't be used with organic's really....

rinse some and give it a test as fredo's plant's seem to like it from what i see :D

and like the gorilla said use an air stone in the water instead of letting it sit I know that works faster in my fish tanks when the chlorine is high:D
