Great idea man.
Got a question...
what did you do to the bottom of the grease gun part. I seen the pic, but the camera flash hit the bottom part and I couldn't quite tell what you did there.
Look at that frosty jug...that butane sure does get cold. :D

screened cap was the pump at 1 time
top has a butane fitting epoxied in

to make one the easy way ......

2" to 2.5" pipe 12" long
2 pipe caps same size as the pipe
1 fine screen (steel, brass or stainless)
drill a cap to match the butane cans outlet tube .... 1/8" drill bit (inlet end)
the other cap can be drilled or milled out
or hose clamp the screen over end (outlet end)

Just a word of caution!!! there is an issue with using metal components; at all cost metal should be avoided due to thermal constraints ,static electricity and the chance of creating a metal to metal spark , much safer to use plastic throughout.
Check my tube in the pic "tis the bomb"

I will have to aurgue that PVC can generate a ton of static as well. (take a sock and rub it along the PVC tube you'll see. ;)
I think caution either way is a must. Triple refined butane is a must as well.Outdoors, no smoking or open flames, ect.
No methyl marcaptan in my butane thank you.
Great design on the extractors guys.

Stainless steel being the best. IMO.

I think you will find across most the growing forums the general consensus is towards PVC as a safer material; as you would have to give it a good wan* to gain a spark; as for metal if you drop it spark, if there is static build on your clothes a spark may arc.
The problem with PVC is its purity it can leach chems from a reaction to the butane , but if you are worried about all the problems then just smoke the weed:D

Age old aurgument.
Stainless over PVC and vice versa. ;)
Think both is dangerous, but the end product is what matters ;)
just be careful guys :)

Pyrex would be the safest in my eyes
not gonna be using PVC here

a dew covered pipe wrapped in a towel resting on glass on a wood back porch .... was very safe
if you're worried about sparks that bad ...... ground it

thats a friends toy
his other one is all Stainless Steel
