just thought id bang this one up for all us fishermen/women to post up are fishing experiances,weight and pics of fish when caught,what kind of tackle and gadjets ya got that kind of thing;)

i been fishing since i was about 7 years old and i goto say its the best hobby(besides growing)on the planet;) ya cant beat going out for a weekend session of carp fishing.early morning mist over the pond,the smell of bacon and sausage frying away on ya stove and then ya heart starts to pound as ya alarm goes off on one of your rods as line is being taken off the spool on ya real.ya strike and booooooooom ya hit a big one,rod bends in half.after abit of a fight ya get it in the landing net and onto the bank....other fishermen congratulate you which makes your head grow a few feet:D then ya sit back,spark a fat one and wait for ya next run whilst taking in the sun and buzzing off the local wild life....

i aint been fishing now for about 12 months as i was attacked by 2 cowerdly scottish men so the wife banned me from fishing all togeather.i think its time i told the misses where to stick that bann and get back to it...dibbz you up for abit of winter carp fishing???;) show yas how its done like;)

heres a few pics for yas...the 2 carps are 15 pounders caught at a local pit.
both caught at the same time on my 3 rod setup.also pic of me and my mate playing them...good job he was there;)

Hey cranky,

I love to fish but haven't in a while.

Do you eat the carp? I thought they were all bones?

<edit>

I did happen to find a couple of photos of a friend of mine who caught a big old channel cat.

I have eaten carp in the past. I was sorta scared as I had always heard it tasted like shit, literally. I tried it and it wasn't bad. I thought it tastes like bluegill, or panfish whatever you wanna call them. I have never cleaned one myself nor do I ever plan on it.

As for carp, I like to fish them for sport cause they are the most fightinest fish I have ever hooked other than a shark but I am far from the ocean so it's not like I could just go shark fishing anytime ya know. I did catch a 45lb grass carp once. We were fishing in a pond a guy had built on his property and he had been stocking it for years and got hurt and couldn't fish it much so he let me and a couple others fish it. If they were under 12" he wanted us to toss them in a bucket and take to another pond or toss them in the ditch he didn't care. If they were under 21" we could keep them if we wanted to if not too em back. If they were over 21" we had to throw them back. And if we cought any carp let him know and make sure we try not to stress them too much, but put them back. Anyhow, I ended up snagging one of his big ass grass carps just behind the lips on the side of the face, took me about an hour to get it in. I had 12lb test on the pole so I didn't get in a hurry and didn't want to fight it too much. Anyhow, After I got it in we tossed it back in and we left about 5 hours later and it was dead. We told the guy and he liked to shit himself. He said it was like a $1500 fish if he were to replace it at that size. I felt so friggen bad about it. He wanted us to dispose of it since it was dead so I took it with me. My son was like 2 at the time and I laid him down on the ground beside it and it was bigger than him by a lot. I took a pic but I can't find it anymore. I just figured I would share that story with ya's.....
