hey everyone, while taking a look at one of my plants today i accidentally pulled a branch a bit to far down and heard a snap sound. had a closer look and it turns out i broke the branch at the node were it attaches back to the main stem. it didnt completely rip of but i had to use some tape to help hold it up.

is there anything i can put on the rip to aid the healing process? or something i can feed the plant.

im pretty sure the branch will reattach itself (i have repaired much worse tears) but it would be ideal if it can repair quicker.

cheers in advance

I found some gooey grey stuff in the shed, on the label it said it was to paint on after hefty pruning of fruit trees, slather it on where the wood is exposed and it forms a seal.

can't tell you if it made any difference, I didn't lose any branches and everything kept growing.

Hey bro sorry to hear that you snapped a branch:mad: but i have had that happen a few times to me i never used tape before probably because i never though of using that but i have made splints for mine and they seemed to heal on there own just fine:D so good luck and hope all works out for you ;) As for something to use to speed up the process I have know idea but it seems like sombro might be on to something. Also pm fing i think i seen him have the same problem with one of his monster trees lol but good luck anyways peace

cheers to everyone for the quick response.

i dont think ill be able to find tree wound compound in my little town but ill check out a few gardening stores tomorrow.

stickybuds, i didn't wrap the plant up with tape if thats what you were thinking hehehehe. its more like a sling hold the wieght of the branch to the main stem. tape was the closest thing i could find that seemed like it would work.

i really hopes it heals though because it was the only branch i pollinated. :damn:

thanks again

hey swiss don't know of anything to speed up the healing but a sling type thingy like you have done is all i ever do:) think the branch will recover and the seeds will be fine on it IMHO

The seeded branch? Ah Man... your fuckin' killin' me!

But like the others have mentioned..... with a little care the branch should heal.
(I hope)

just had a look and it looks like the branch is still growing happily. was going to go for a closer inspection but i have a killer hangover and i didnt want to do anymore damage to the plant lol.

yer fred out of all the branches of all the plants i had to snap the more important one. stupid me.

cb, cheers for that and i hope all goes good aswell. if the seeds make it i might be the first person (ok maybe not the first:D) to have a crop of plants that grow 3 leaves and 3 branches from each node. well thats a project to keep me busy for the winter any way. (would make for a great mother plant aswell) so many branches to choose from.

cheers to everyone again
