I had a friend tell me this shit is the shit, so I bought a bottle and stated adding it to my watering schedule but didn't really notice any type of improvement. Then one day I was trimming back my white widow mother and making clones when I decided to try putting super thrive in the water that is absorbed by the pete pellets. I could not believe how fast all of my cuttings rooted. With this white widow strain I've always had to make many cuttings just to get a couple to root. Rooting usually takes about 2 weeks or more but this batch rooted in 6 days. Could be that the conditions were just right but... I'm pretty familiar with my plants cloning habits and I was shocked.
Anyone else using this shit?

Ive tried to put it in my bubble cloner and didnt see any diffrence in growth.however,i did see a slimmy build up on the waters surface and attached to my cuttings.so I dumped it and ran fresh water,i may have not givin it enough time to do its buisness.
hey drumin,
never used it here but most feed back I see is not good...but I have a bro that uses .... all he uses for veg???? and he can grow some monster's:eek:
most bad reports I see are mainly hydro growers.....
dont really know what to think about it myself but I know you know your plants well and how they clone and it seems to cut that time in half for you:D
gonna test it out some more?

I'm kinda like CB on this one...... heard good and bad....... never tried it myself.
But let me ask you this Drummin..... Did you also use Cloning Powder or Gel?
Also how much Super Thrive did you add to how much water?
I mean hell, if adding a dash of ST to get cloning results like that, I wanna try it out myself!:mmmm:

I believe superthrive has certain vitamins or hormones in it that help plants out in times of stress. I've read that superthrive is best added at times like cloning, the switch to 12/12, or to unhealthy plants that you're trying to get to rebound.

I read mixed results as well, most of the apathetic comments are that they didn't notice any difference when using. I haven't read any bad results other than hydro as well.
I used Green Light's Rooting Hormone as usual; get the cutting the right size, dip it in water then rooting powder and stick it into the peat pellet. The only difference is that I used Super Thrive in the water for the peat pellet.
Dose was 1/4 tsp / gallon then soak the pellet in that water.
I'm gonna try it again next batch but I think I'll do half the batch and see...
The only time's I've seen problems is using it every feeding or in hydro as well.
If you want to avoid the hormones. I think "ThriveAlive" would be a good B1 alternative.
I had great results using it when transplanting. Haven't tried it with cloning tho. Might give it a shot.

i use a rooting gel and spray my pellets after a day with a light mixture of super thrive....YES...amazing roots in days ...usually 3 to 5 :)
i freaking love this stuff :D
we tried the super thrive on two plants we had vegging in hydro.
fuck that shit! it didn't do anything but attach it's self to the the roots and kill them. made them one long black lump. it says it's good for hydro, but we'll never use it in hydro again. also left a nice coating on the inside of the buckets.
seems to work good as a foliar spray on clones and as part of the nutes for our soil grow, but it will never find it's way into our hydro buckets again.
another painful lesson learned, never try something new on all your plants. use it on just one first.
some of life's lessons are extremely painful...

i've used superthrive from day 1 and have nothing to say but good things about it in soil or soilless mixes. i use it every watering (about 3 drops/gallon) and it makes my girls super lush and dark green! i used it on a jade plant that was almost completely dead and it's started new growth! definitely speeds rooting time in cloning as it provides all the bio-organic hormones and vitamins that plants usually have to create on their own. great stuff imo.:)

You know, I wish I'd been here 2 weeks ago.lol I had a Hindu Kush xWhite Widow mother I cloned off of, and could have really used that info, as my plant deoesn't take to cloning too well. Oh well, you live and learn. At least 10 out of 18 have rooted.
Thanks for posting that info.
All the best,
TG
In any type of recirculating hydro it's a no-no, 'cause it binds with certain bits in your water and produces a gelatinous slime that will block drippers, feed lines etc.
I guess therefore it could be used in run to waste systems that had big ol' feed lines, or where you hand watered.... but I'm not sure why you'd do it.
I do use it myself, as a foliar spray it's great for halting early stem rot and also when I've left them in 3" cubes too long without feeding and they need reviving before they go onto the main hydro trays. ;)
Never heard of it as a pre-soak for cutting blocks though... :hmmmm: Might try it...

Been soaking my jiffy pucks in water with superthrive for years now, always had great results when cloning. 12 L of water in a bucket with 4-5 drops of superthrive and 10ml or so of ANs H2. I'll see about doing a side by side comparison this week sometime as time permits.

Used it for years as well. DWC, NFT, Rockwool, Geolite and soil. Love the stuff!!! I ussually add a cap full or so per gallon. ;)

I've heard of that happening b4 as well. I only used it in veg after transplanting with great results in soil. I didn't use it as a regular regimine tho. But was great when used helping out a sick plant or rough transplant. What ever hormone they put in is potent. But if just wanting to add B1 supplement without hormones I'd use thrive alive. It doesn't have the growth hormone in it.

Wasn't super thrive first designed as a commercial foliar spray for ill crops?
No not with a hand spray, a fuggin plane :)
I know 1 person to have used it in hydro and needless to say, it was pants...... :2cents:
