saw my first two hairs today. Plant is 49 days, flowering for5 or 6 days
when they go hermie what happens do they get balls at another spot or do the female ones get a sex change. its bag seed and my first ever plant hoping for the best.
getting 400 wt hps monday or tuesday, woo hoo. woulda got it today but the darn place closed at noon. sob's. i need my light
heres a pic of the next plant 2 plants coming up. plant looks great its like 4 weeks old
hyponex soil miracle-gro fert. 24-6-18 i believe.
two 10 quart bins, two plants in each bin. one 9 inch plant with interveinial ch. one 5 inch plant, no interveinial chlorosis. all of the same age and planted at the same time. hope that makes sense.
has a couple of burn type marks that ya know, come from the yellow tip. other than that looks tall and proud, oh yeah, i dont feed full strenth only half.
maybe once full strengh. both look the same. and i am pretty sure they came from two different sources. any advice
went to the local hydro store the other day. wow!!1 great place gonna by some better fert and soil next time. i wanna try hydro down the road. gotta learn not to kill my plants first.
thanks in advance:)

Hey dude. Congrats on your baby girl. :D
She looks like she's been fed a ton of nitrogen. That MG is strong and I may back off on it a bit. That yellowing might be a son of MG def, don't take my word for it and wait for someone else to agree with me or to disagree. If i'm right, maybe add a little epsom salts in with your next watering. She does look very healthy! Great leaf structure and side branching. I'm very much familiar with 400 HPS. Starting to flower at 14" tall is a pretty good time. Keep up taking such good care of her and you can expect a couple oz's for sure. In the near future, I would buy another fertilizer to take her through flowering. Use something with a lot less nitrogen after a few weeks into flower, when she stops stretching or whenever she is ready to make it through the rest of your grow.
Usually you start high nitrogen in the beginning of flower, medium in the middle, and next to nothing towards the end of flower. The middle of flower P is very important. Maybe get something more like a 3-10-0 or something (I'm not so great with NPK numbers). This helps the plant concentrate more on budding and less on leaf development. Many fert brands advertise "Multiple blooms and increased aromas and flavor" from extra P and K mid-to-late flowering. Eventually, a couple weeks before you harvest you should want to see some yellowing in the leaves. In fact since you've been using miracle grow, I would flush pretty heavily at the end, in order to wash the nutrients from the soil, and force the plant to eat up the nutrients from it's own leaves. From what i've read and the general consensus believes is that this will make your bud smoke smoother, and not be as harsh. Nitrogen makes smoke harsh.
All the best of luck and Keep us updated with pics. Your plant looks Indica, BTW and will probably finish between 8-9 weeks. This is just a guestimate area for you though.
hehe, very much stoned,
Gorilla.

ya i just gave the two plants with the interveinial ch some epsom salt like i read on here. i hope it works
now that i've found the hydro store i will sure get better ferts and soil
how can you tell its been fed a bounch of n, which pic, one of the two or the female.
thanx
nice one on the girl :)
in flower most try to go with a 1-2-3 npk ratio and in veg a 3-2-1 ;)
can play around a bit with that as the plant needs :D I'm at 20 days veg and have a week tea brew'n at 1-1-1 for a one time shot then back to 3-2-1 until flower. usually hit mine with a another 1-1-1 tea around 2 weaks into flower
never tried MG ferts on weed so not much help with there products....

thank you for the info cb i will look into geting something along those lines.
so mine would be 3-1-2 as it is 24-8-16. the "ratio" is something i wondered about but never got around to asking.
mg was the only thing i could find, maybe being so late in the season. every one already had out their halloween stuff
Iv'e seen the name fox farms in quite a few posts. can i switch to organics in the middle of a grow?

Yes, you can switch to organics in the middle of your grow. I'm sure your plants would be happy to eat some fox farms instead of MG. Most of fox farms products are 100% organic but some are "nearly" 100%. Hehe.
The pic of the lone fem, 14 inches tall. She looks very dark green.

no prob, that's just a basic starting ratio and not carved in stone:)
with a good flush of the MG ferts I don't see any reason why you cant go organic or even organic based :)
the 2 together probly is not a good mix tho.
and yes thats a 3-1-2 ratio that will work in veg and even as a mid flower pick me up:D

yeah i wanna get some new soil. that hyponex sucks. its more like dirt than soil. and hard like cement.
i dont know how the roots are growing.
when should i start feeding the fem. flowering solution. been in flower 5-6 days.
i will try and pick up fox farms tomorrow.
big bloom or tiger bloom for flowering.
man i am excited anout getting my light tomorrow, 400 watts of maxamim performance, peircing the night. this is high-pressure-sodium.
big bloom or tiger bloom for flowering.
I use both and kinda follow this chart of there's..... that's not a real marijuana friendly mix IMHO and I never start at those doses...
you can mix and match those along with there soil to go organic or semi-organic if you choose :)
hope all works out with the light, and while at the hydro store ask about a FF feed charts (there free) and see if they have maxium yeild magazine it's free also ;)

also i see flowering times of 12/12. is that to get the most hours of light to your plant, giving it the min. of darkness to flower.
the reason i ask is mine is on 14 hours of dark due to my schedule. i still haven't got all of my rooms together properly and i am vegging in the flower chamber and flowering in the veg cab.
i might just flower every thing when i get my 400 wt and start a new round.
heres my chamber
this was last week day i started flower i think

12/12 is best for flowering bro. 10/14 is a bit too much dark IMO to start flowering. first couple of weeks of flowering are called the "stretch". the plant says "whoa! light has changed" and stetches out big time to make room for the buds. stretch usually lasts a few weeks, 2-3.
start with the flowering formula probably as soon as you want, check that chart.

is it ok to change it?
its only been in flower 5 or 6 days
well i put the timer on 12/12.
i think it has started stretching, its grown 4" in five days

hi again , i have another noob question.
could the above pics have been the early sign of some n def.
i know i am useing very strong miracle gro but i dont think i was actually giving enough liquid, if that makes sense. with this hyponex soil i think the liquid was just running to the sides and down and out.
the reason i wonder is i have all kinds of secondary gtowth. i've only ever seen one other plant in my life, the one flowering as i also mentioned above, but these 4 (two with probs- 2 look fine) have more secondary than ive ever seen. i can hardly see the stem let alone look for preflowers.
well i haven't fed for like 12 days (trying to flush with ph'd water) and i get a good look and i have a bunch of yellow leaves on the bottom of all four of the plants. well i gave a good drenching when i saw that.
also wondering if my 400 hps will do any good for the veg stage.
i got the hps monday but yet to get it wired or anything but at least i have it.
i'll repost the pics just to be sure

here they are
seems like the plants were a light green when they started off growing. very light green compared to the female i have.
so after acouple of feedings they darkened up except for the places pictured here.
also about the leaves that have turned all yellow, do i leave those or cut them off?
all help is very appreciated, veeeerrrrrrrry appreciated.

many new growers try to do too much to be involved in the plants growth. Too many nutes, too much messing with the watering schedule, TOO MUCH. MJ is just a great weed we found wonderful uses for, but it can pretty much grow on its own if we just don't kill it. Any good potting soil is going to provide all the nutes your plants need for at least two months, maybe more. If your strain is a heavy feeder, you will be able to see that and can add some food to the soil; remember that you are feeding the soil, not the plant. IMO you should not add nutes more than every 3rd watering (in soil anyway - don't know anything about hydro), and you should not be watering but every 3-4 days; let the girls dry out a bit before watering again. When you water, drench the pots until water starts to come out the holes in the bottom. Pick up the pots just before you water to get a sense of how much they weigh when they need water. Then I usually don't water again until the pots get that weight again, or better yet, until some of the fan leaves start to droop a bit. If you overwater, you can drowned your plants so that they can't get oxygen and they will either just stop growing or turn yellow and die. The best advice, at least for your first few grows, is to Keep It Simple Stoner. Good luck bro.
I just let my yellow leafs fall off on there own :) The plant knows what it is doing and when to do it pretty much...
I would use the 400 hps in veg and flower... mine are under a 1k hps now in veg
12 days and no food might be a bit long to go...hows the new growth look?

well they must be doing alright there about a foot tall with alternating nodes, cant really see anything underneath cuz of all the secondary
the yellow is from not feeding for almost two weeks. gave it food yesterday and the neins green back up on the yellow ones
