I cloned today and needed to get some peat pellets. When I got to the shop they have had cocoa pellets to replace the peat version. Seems it lets more air in which can only be a good thing?
Anyway I took the six donors under the knife and went ahead with making 24 White Russians. Although I'm happier with the Chronics I thought topped Russians were worth a shot.
I'll keep you informed how these new pellets perform but they seem 'too' light for me, that's why I've kept a couple of WR donors.

I've used coco coir for rooting clones, and for all the stages of growth on a few plants. What I liked about the stuff was my soil nutes worked with it, just as they had with soil with no issues. The plants love the stuff and since it doesnt contain nutrients, makes an excellent starter soil for new seeds or clones.

good luck with the new stuff burns. I'll be trying some coco myself again soon. I've seen the bricks at the pet store and my boys Anole is due some new bedding.

I agree about the Coco ND. I used it in the last grow for all 10 and I'm now using it for apx 6 of the 10. Thing is I've not used it for cloning. I soaked the pelets in NO1 Root promoter dipping the roots in Clonex. The pellets just seem far too airy to me? How did you use them when cloning?

Cut and stick, really. If the topsoil looked dry I'd mist it but other then that, worked just like vermiculite for me.
