Well, I feel safer here as you guys hide the pictures from lurkers which is great IMO. So I am going to start my journal here. No where else. :)
Well, I have about 4 weeks until this operational. I'm shopping right at the moment. I figure I'll post what I'm getting and prices. that way I can check back here and keep this stoner memory in check.
So please be patient and you see any pitfalls coming my way let me know.
My goal:
(4) different bonzai donors.
(4-6) Mini Sog
Provide 1-2 ounces every 2 months of 4 different varieties. I don't smoke much. More of a sleep aid and lazy sunday for me.
Budget $500 max.
Well after much thought over and over. I decided and got my order placed.
Donor/clone area
(1) 100W MH flood gutted made remote
(1) extra MH bulb
Flower area
(1) 150W HPS flood gutted
(1) extra bulb
Total cost with shipping:

Well as you guys can see I'm gonna design my area around lighting. I can always control plant size, but heat and area have always been a problem for me. So productive micro grow sounds right up my ally.
OK now for venting.
(4) 80mm computer fans per section. (passive intake) (20 bucks a 4-pack)
Can I hook all (4) up to 1 single wall wart adapter rated at 1000ma or should I run (2) per wall wart? Any thoughts would be helpful. (18 bucks a piece)
I seen this cool mat I could use for a breeze I know I gotta watch spills, so I was thinking about mounting this one the side of the cab. Whatcha guys think? (12 bucks a piece)

might hold off until flower on this.

ahhh a new grow room :D
Allow me offer my humble services when it comes down to drillin holes and breakin stuff to make it fit :D
I personally find building the grow room/closet, hanging the lights, tuning it in and all the preparation to be 50% of the entire growing endeavor, and is in itself pretty damn fun :)
I see u got some nicely organised shopping done also

Sorry it took so long to reply but here it goes 1a=1000ma so if a fan consumes 10ma you can use 100 but its best to leave 10-20% free for initial draw of current ,(transient load) easier on the power supply.
Well here ya go...the cheapo set up. 20 buck white melamine cab at kmart for only 20 bucks....come on man....can't build it that cheap :p..but its a workin. :)

got some 55watter flos coming in running on barely 3K per sq.ft. but gonna boost that up. Didn't get my MH and HPS yet....but gonna try the flos for now.
Haven't built that cab yet...thats gonna take some time. but had to have something going. :)

well 10 days in....won't post again until after the 3rd 4th week.
The JFxCH is comin on fast compared to the NL....gotta love that hybrid vigor. :) Can't wait for it to really take off.
Tell ya what tho....got a major peeve....why is it i can't find any non prefert soil anymore grrrr. MG here tried to flush it good. but still hot. oh well. it'll work i guess.
still haven't finished up the other cab...life first :(
but here is a lil update. MG soil pitched me a small fit as you can tell from the bottom of the plants...but fixed n turned around. MG is just so unbalanced its crazy. but it works a lil I guess.
Sprouted a few more beans as well. For shits n giggles.
Can't fit much more in there.

I feel ya on the potting soils man. I switched to Expert Gardener Organic mix the last time and found it to be very good soil. Real easy on the plants and drains good right out the package.

Its not unferted persay, it does say on the package 3 months of Natural feeding. I see no tiny green balls of ferts in it, so thats a plus.
Another suggestion, you got a nursery near by? Almost all of them have their own soil blend and sell it. I just grabbed a bag last week. I've put 1 in it, but need to start a seed in it to see just how hot it is. Hopefully not to bad, I got 20qts of it, lol.... thats almost a years worth of soil for me with recycling it.

i hear ya about the MG soil and seedlings strong stuff:o but i love my MG i guess cause that's all i ever buy i never see fox farm products around so i just stick with that but what i do for my seedlings is when i get a bag i dump all the soil in like four or five, five gallon bucks with lots of holes in them and i flush the soil for like a weak every day then use it seems to help some seems like alot of work but it helps:D good luck bro be back around peace

NL is in the lead. the NL and 1 JFxCh is stayin in 16 oz. cup. others got transplanted.

the NL in the 16 oz. cup is on a little bit of life support but still budding. I boosted it with some "N" to help the yellowing.
Other's seem ok.

hey Dawg, I found in the 16oz cup they yellow up fast on the bottom do to crowded roots as well....never really worried about it becouse I knew they where getting N at the time:)
can you kinda hint about the where abouts of your box? just wondered like in a closet or what?:p

troubles...nothin a flush can't remedy. MG soil shows its ugly head. SALT build-up. LOL
plants look good bro.... does MG soil always have alot of salt buildup? and if so does a good warm water flush work?
I tried my well water last year just to see whats what and after the grow the salt build up is thick on the inside of the pot :eek:

Yeah I've noticed drastic PH fluctuations in the past and major salts from MG products....thus why I dread using it....but gotta do what I can bein a redneck boy in the city. I never had much trouble and never needed to flush if I used decent soil, poop, Perlite, Lime and river rocks on the bottom. but till I figure out where the shops are 'round here. I gotta use what I can get. :(
I just do a room temp water flush nuthing really warm.
I awlays have to flush it mid flower. Plus using my maxi-bloom with it sure prolly doesn't help. :p Its some nasty stuff when it comes flush time.
Would love to see that pick CB. Do you have it with the plant in it? So I can check out your leaves and stuff?

WOW!!! yep looks like a margarita glass thats been sittin on the beach a lil too long :p
Some pictures, got some "frying" leave issues, but the rest is green and doin good...so not really worrying a whole bunch.
Untopped one had a fight with the lights and lost. :rolleyes:
but here they are. I looked back on the calander and upcoming week will be week 7. So time to start sticking under the jewlers loupe soon.
The one in the purple pot was a bagseed I started under 12/12 lanky thing is a girl tho. LOL

Gettin there. Got one ready this weekend the other one and the 16 oz cup one next week. The tied down one prolly 2 weeks by the looks of it.

Well, went to Radioshack yest. and picked up a micro (and it is a POS!!!!) I wish my jewelers loupe didn't break. Magnifying glass didn't cut it. I looked expecting mainly clear. 30-40% amber so I did a partial harvest.
I'm pleased with what the CFL's gave me for buds. I didn't expect even this much off em. :p
Still got the untopped one left and hopeing the lower buds on the partially harvested ones get a lil heftier.

Yeah I was suprised by it as well under CFL's. but telling ya they be tight buds compared to my first indoor grow a while ago :p....but nothing compares to a HID or sunlight. ;) but for a micro grow...don't think it went half bad. I am thinking that cab is gonna be veg for the next grow....unless I get curious and do a Scrog and see what can be done with it. :p Gotta love playin around.
The perk is my case of homeade beer will be ready about the time this bud has dired and cured. get to enjoy homeade amber ale and homegrown bud....gonna be a nice night ;)

well 2nd part of harvest. Figure by end of this week or begining of next week this last one should be ready. Slow going one.
The lil one is gettin the rest of the chop. Trichs were mainly amber.
Still hoping the one in the 16 oz. gets a lil fatter, O'wise gonna have a rubbin alcohol bath with the leaves. :p
