Is it better to let a male plant do the pollinating itself, or should I try to do it by removing/using the pollen from the male and distributing it to the female by myself?
#2
After I pollinate one female plant, should I keep it seperate from all other females (to keep the pollination from spreading) or can they still grow together?
#3
How do you know when its time to gather seeds from the pollinated female? Weeks, Months??

1.) IME I have seen no difference in doing it my self or letting it happen naturally. The benefits of doing the pollination your self are you control what gets pollinated yourself only part of the female plant(1 or 2 bud sites) and not the whole plant!
2.) I usually keep mine seperated for a few as to ensure the other females she will be next to don't get pollinated although once in a while I will get a stray seed in another female. I have kept them seperated up to a week
and then spray them off with a spray bottle to get excess pollen off. All depends how much work you want to put into it.
3.) When its done flowering! Of course it depends on the strain, an 8 weeker I will usually pollinate at the middle or end of week 3 give or take a day and about 90+/-% of what I pollinated will produce viable seeds at the end of the plants flowering cycle!

Brother Chron's got it well under hand... one thing I might add though...
Just make sure you give at least 30 days after pollination for the seeds to develop and mature.
Cheers and good greens all around :)

If ya want to control it to max just do 1-2 bud sites then 6-8 hours later mist the plant down with water to kill off over drift of pollen ;)
once pistels turn red or brown the deed is done and there fast at it like rabbits ;)
snap crackle and pop is best with milk not weed :D

I germinated 10 lowryder 2 seeds, got 100% germination results. Would the techniques you gave me still apply to this:eek: strain or no??

Sorry dude just been checking my mail latley, I would have to say yes but lowryder being an autoflower you may want to keep them in the same room never bred an auto flower strain so I really dont know any special techniques but I believe the same rule would apply for pollination at least 30 days for seed development! hope that helps a little:)

1. you are better off controling the pollenation. That way you wont have an extrem over kill on seeds.Cause pollenated bud isnt as potent. That way you can pollenate 5-6 sites and have more then plenty. Then after you pollenate, wait about 2 hours.then spray the plant down with water.
2. You dont need to keep the plant seperated. It will be all good.
3.You will know cause the calyx they grow in will fill up with a seed. The calyx will start to split, then you can take the seed.Hope this helps.Keep ir GREEN:D
