Hi all

just a few pics of these plants they are in their first week of flower so hopefully I will get some nice juicy nugs out of em :D

Will post some more pics later as they grow some buds :rolleyes:

Damn fine looking plants there buddy!!! Congrats, you've definately been giving them some TLC. What kind of setup are you using for lights and how big are the pots they are in? I'll be following along, although you may want to think about reposting this under the soil grow journal section. Later.

theyorker - thanks man, i use a 400 mh for veg and a 400 hps for flower and the pots are just a bit over a gallon size :D

Luckily none of the pollen sacks opened to fertilize my ladies :cool:

I can't decide if its a hermie or strictly male so I'd appreciate some opinions :o

Pics 1 and 2 are some yellowing leaves i was concerned about.. is this showing N deficiency or a normal part of flowering?

both :) I like to hit mine with a dose of N bout mid flower or so for my nutes

let em yellow and fall off on there own like.... less to trim later and the plant is pretty much done with em to ;)

I just use a shop vac to keep my room clean from the dry ones that do fall... dont want a fire hazard now

have you tried the beastie bloomz yet? week 4 of flower and on for that heavy hitter :D

might tip a few fans but no biggie really.. (1/4 teaspoon/gallon) works a wonder :eek:

pic 1 is the very top cola of a sativa

pic 2 is a shot of the main cola of some kind of indica strain that i got some beans from my friend :D

pic 3 is a shot of a main cola of another sativa that is the same strain as pic1, except this plant seems to be producing extremely more dense buds, cant really put my finger on it yet though lol :eek: :rolleyes:

ill post some more pics in about a week, should be a good difference by then im hoping :watch:

Sorry for the lack of updates guys :o

I ended up harvesting this batch at 9 weeks into flower due to the stench drawing attention from the neighbors .. or maybe it was my own paranoia who knows :(

I'm not too great yet at looking at the trichomes and determining when to harvest by that.. guess I need more magnification :rolleyes: but im hoping i chopped em pretty close to their peak dankness ;)

Anyway took three final pics of my three best main colas before I chopped them all :eek:

They are drying now in the dark shed, got a gentle oscillating fan blowing on them to help prevent mold. :cool:

I'll post dry bud pics soon and check to see what my dry weight is :)

Hello all :D

Well it's been quite a bit since I updated this journal so I'd thought I'd make a post :)

I let the buds cure for about 5 months then the holidays came around so

I had to start smoking the crop :rolleyes:


I was very happy with the results, the buds give you a nice head high which

keeps me from sitting on the couch all day, although a bit more body stone

couldn't hurt either :p


Got about 6 oz total buds out of the whole crop and a shitload of leaf im still

deciding what to do with :cool:


There was one thing that I found strange: although all the buds were dank,

some buds were very dense, while some others were so fluffy, a nice size bud

wouldn't even fill a bowl :mad:

I am pleased with the outcome, but I would appreciate any opinions on why

the buds ended up dense in some parts and fluffy in the other? :o

BTW I've pretty much ruled out light leakage because i made sure to take

care of this problem before the grow (learned from last time :rolleyes: )

Hello all

I was checking out some HID lights and I thought more lightage couldnt hurt ;)

I was thinking about getting one of those outdoor security HID lights (the ones that have the ballast set up in the enclosure already)

I thought this could prove useful for side lighting as I am already using a 400 watter hanging above my girls :)

I was thinking at least 150w but I could go all the way up to another 400w.

I'm thinking this will be especially useful during flower because my buds from last harvest were a bit fluffy in some parts of the plant (There was no light leakage and humidity was good but high temps may have played a role) :rolleyes:

Anyway I was wondering what you guys's thoughts were

I know more light = better results, but does an extra boost in side lighting make a huge difference??

the security lamps we have here are no good for growing fella,plus if ya having heat issues,a lamp without a remote ballast will just add to that prob as the ballast acts like a mini heater in there.

not unless ya talking about envirolites?yas can get um upto 250w in both blue and red spectrum's and they give off alot less heat than hps/hid/mh lamps.

with envirolites ya can hang them right on in there among the plants,,,as long as the plant dont touch the bub they wont burn which makes um great for supplement lighting.watch out for imitations though.

your first grow produced some nice herb, that's for sure.

like cranky mentioned, those securtiy lights you were thinking of adding would probably not be benefitial and only act like another heatsource :(

your best bet would be to do like I do... I veg with a 400W, but switch to a 1,000W for flowering.

heat,lack of light, and many other possibility's....

if you can control the heat side light will help alot for tall/bushy plants.... I use a couple of 250's to fill in where needed at times:)

I still get fluffy lower buds even with 2k on if the plants are over 3 foot tall or cramped in the cabby :o

another thing to think about.... you said you could go another 400 watt.... would be better off with 1X 600 ;) tight nugs come from intensity not the amount of lumans you can toss at them ...

I'm with CB on this one... even tho more "light" is given off by using 2 - 400's... it is more benefitial to the plant to use a single 600.

I'm gonna keep looking into some lighting and heat control options as I don't plan on starting another grow until the winter is over :cool:

Also what do you guys think about adding a CO2 generator.. I've tried using big buckets of baking soda and vinegar, but I don't think that's enough CO2 to really make a difference (In my experience with this, I didn't really notice a significant difference) :shrug:

I've heard that CO2 is often the first limiting factor in the growth of plants and then light.. so any thoughts on this one? :o

BTW, this bud from my last grow is good bud and excellent for rolling joints or blunts because it is so dry and fluffy, but if you put it in a pipe or bong it's gone before you know it :eek:

a good intake and exhaust setup will cover the c02 the plants need just fine...

the bucket setup is the same as take'n a nap in the grow:)

with a proper setup, c02 injection can help. but IMO it's not worth the money if you have proper ventilation .

once again... just like CB said. One thing I would add, however... myself, I like to spend a hell of a lot of time in the grow box... just looking, feeling, inspecting... and taking my time... with the ventilation system turn OFF. not only do the little ladies get the benefit of all the extra attention and affection, but they are also benefitting from all the expelled CO2 from my "exhaust". The babies like to be the center of attention... and love the CO2 that I am adding to the box while I am in there with them. I love my plants, and in return, they love me back when they r all grown up ;)

Just got a few healthy lookin beans from some funky lookin shat a friend had..:eek:

Don't know the strain as it was bag seed but the bud was very good and potent with a sweet aroma and taste.. bottom line gets me ripped :D

I think im gonna try to get these to pop and see what happens :)

Got 10 beans of some good bagseed and 10 beans of some shit my friend managed to grow last yr

let them germ for 72 hrs, some are about to grow cotys already :eek:

Will plant soon and I'll probably start a new journal
