i only have 3 indoor grows under my belt and i've gotten a lil tired of the high electricty bills . seeing how the sun is out a whole lot of hours each day. i went ahead and started these lil babies. my first outdoor grow. high and tired , so if anybody has any questions feel free. peace

was having trouble uploading my cell phone pics to my comp. and really havent had time to work with it cuz i work so much. transplanted them 4 days ago. it should of been done a week ago. i made it a messy job.

they used to be in these small cups thats the reason for the slow growth. roots didnt have much to grow in.

Any reason for the milk containers other than you already had 'em?

Any reason for the milk containers other than you already had 'em?
im big on recycling. i drink plenty of water and milk, so y not use the containers and get the full value out of them. simply my 2 cents but i like it. each container has about 1/2 in. of gravel along with holes at each bottom for good drainage. with pots u have to wash them out and store them when not in use. i like being able to thru these away as soon as the grow is over.
:D :D
I think that's a pretty hefty idea :D
milk for weed hehe
only thing i worry about is potential light reaching the roots, else they are top notch
hope this bagseed grow turns out good for ya man!

well, I've heard a lot of good advise about using neem oil, but since i never came around to using it, i tend to use just straight playground sand, of course from a bag. you may wanna sterilize it too , just to be on the safe side.
i simply spread a layer on top of the soil, around an inch or so, and water from the bottom, which makes the top sand layer dry out and so kill the larvae. They need the humidity to survive.
depending on how early you spot this problem and intervene, you may want to possibly even remove as much of the top soil as possible without disturbing any roots, then put the sand layer...this will potentially remove any larvae that have been dug in. also, since they frequently surface, they aren't too deep in the soil and usually spread across the very top layer of your pots.
hope this help man :)

my favorite way to get rid of the fungus gnats is a combo of safers yellow sticky strips and diatomaceous earth sprinkled on the soil.
They always seem to pop up every now and then, but the DE really kicks the hell out of em, plus it is 80%+ silica, with a tiny amount of mg and iron in it that your plant sure can use. Like a 2 for one top dressing.
Another bonus from using it on top of your soil is that mites and other insects won't be able to walk across the dirt to climb uninfected plants, making it a top notch organic preventative measure.
All my dirt bins get a good sprinkling of DE over them, and really anywhere an insect has to walk is a good spot for it.
To us it is just dust, but to them it is a field of razorblades. It cuts through their shells and dehydrates them.
Hell, I add DE with my cats food once a month to keep them worm free.
I know someone who rubs their horses down in it to keep lice fleas and ticks off.
The stuff is great, and safe as safe can get. The feed store (read: trailer park organics store) near me sells 50 lb bags of the stuff for under $20. 50 lbs will last you years.

I like the reuse of the milk jugs. I use similar cut jugs for cloaches for my outdoor garden. Most of the stuff (outside of lamps, timers, etc.) that I use in my secret garden is stuff left over from my outdoor gardens. I get so many plants and so much garden stuff delivered, when stuff like lamps or whatever show up, the delivery drivers don't bat an eye. Good luck, we'll be watching.

Hey there H2dSky....
This is a total outdoor grow thus far correct? Are your plants in full sun, shade or something in between? Also, what are your night time temps?
I'm thinking about doing the rest of my grow outside (I'm 4 weeks into veg using Flouros)...I want to veg another 3 weeks and I was thinking they might do well outside now.
Thanks,

Cool...thanks for the info. Seems like we have similar conditions although my nights are more like low 60's. I also get sun from about 6:00a-7:30ish pm and they are under shade cloth. So far the plants seem to be thriving since I moved them outside last Sunday. I'm going to leave them out to veg another 3 weeks outside. You planning to flower outside as well? Will they wait until Fall or do you think they will start flowering soon?

had some marigolds a got from the local nursery that where like 10X worse than yours and just stuck them in ground as they where..... dug em up 3 months later and they looked the same as when i planted them  roots stayed the shape of the pot they where in.

Rootbound is bullshit. hahah
sure a plant stresses a bit from being tight in a pot, but as long as it's watered regularly and fed well enough the plant is fine.

:D Im with this guy :p lol. Root bound late in flower has good advantages in soil. The daily dry out cycle stimulates trich growth and I also find a flush is responded to immediately. Yellowing starts the very next day.
It also seems to give the soil grower some control over the nutrients the plant receives. Mistakes show much faster, not quite hydro fast but faster then "rule of thumb" growing.
H2, looking good there. Those sativas will keep you guessing wont they? Last one I did got loose in flower and threw branches every where. Not a bad middie smoke in the end, but man what a mess to clean up.
So, how'd this lady take the transplant? I've never shaken the rootball out like that, I'll just twist it loose a bit or butterfly it, depends on if the knife is clean. Really interested to know this cause something like that could save me some veg space on the occasion, if I just repotted in the same pot, just with fresh medium. I dont always have the room when the deed is required.
