does anyone know how much of a draw difference there is between a four hundred watt and a six hundred watt h p s? and would it make that much of a difference? I imagine there is a huge difference between a four hundred and a thousand watt.

we live in an old place and would hate to start blowing fuses on a nightly basis.

if it isn't too much, we may trade up over the summer.

thanks dudes.

The sticker on my 1,000 HPS says 9.50 amps, thats working off of 120 volts. This has it's own 15 amp fuze.

Just guessing wakka.... but a 400 watter should prolly draw about 3.50 to 4 amps or so..... a 600 watter should draw around 5.50 to 6 amps.
Hope this helps a little.
Sure others will pipe in with correct info..... always best to know for sure when dealing with electricity!

watts/volts=amps.

leave 10% for wiggle room on your circuit breaker for start up surge etc.

Your electric company charges you by the Kilowatt hour = KWH. So If a 1000 watt lite costs $.10 an hour (check your electric bill for price per KWH) then a 400 watt will use 40% of 1KWH light, 600 watt = 60% etc.>)
