It is our pleasure to enroll our boy/girl twin 4 year olds in this groovey little pre school in our neighborhood. It is a co-op, my wife or I are required to "teach" one day a week. The most recent co-op I did, found me full of fatherly pride in my son.

we were beading that day, tons o hippy fun! The instructors "teachers" tied a large bead to the end of some "rainbow twine". This provided an anchor for the remaining smaller beads. The girls in the class went right to work stringing all sorts of wonderful necklaces and braclets and "hangers":)

The boys all save one found another use for the large bead tied to the end of the twine... a weapon. Within five minutes of passing out the beaded twine the boys .. save one had left the craft table and were having sword fight type interaction with the bead and the string, not acceptable behavior at the co-op, the lead "teacher" to the discipline route for them. I was left at the craft table with all the cutzie little girls and one little boy, my son. 2thumbs He had chose not to sword fight, he stayed at the craft table bless his heart. I was so proud he was not lured to the violence inherient in the system. However he was not beading either, he had struggled to untie the anchor bead and was wrapping his pinky with the really neat rainbow twine, cutting off the circulation turnning it purple.. Atsa ma boy!

BTW in the last snow, he also wanted to help with the neighboors walk, they are handicapped, he likes to help ain't it cool!
