Find a way to shorten the budding process to like 2 or 3 weeks.
2 weeks veg, 2 weeks flowering to grow phat sticky sparkly buds.
1 month clones to buds.

Couldn't have put it better myself Dibz. In fact the hobby bit took off from not wanting to be involved with twats on the street.

Commercialism is far from anything I will ever want to get into but I'd love to have a large grow just for a one hit satisfaction. Thing is, once you've cropped a few lbs you'd have to lay off the hobby or you'll become stock piled. :(
At least if I get in trouble with what I have, I'll end up serving community service in a charity shop with a £100/$170 fine and my equipment conviscated. Commercialism is a whoooooole different story.

I agree 110 %. "Pot for profit", is one of the biggest BLACK marks against legalization, "IMHO". The illusion of huge profits in the black market are detrimental to the profile of growers and users alike.

I see everyone (so far) has missed the point of my post.
If you could invent someway to shorten the flowering time to 2 or 3 weeks instead of 8--9 weeks (like a hormone or techique), you could sell the idea and make a fortune.

CO2 augmentation and adding air to the root zone huh. Decreases the veg and flower time by 2 weeks??? :eek: I know a tad about Co2 augmentation however adding air to the root zone?? I am a soil guy so i dont know much about them hydroponics/aero but i am intrested because thats basicly a month off of your growing time. 1 month !!!! Even if you cant have a SoG or purpetual harvest going because your clones count as plants too (i am one of those guys). i am very intrested. Maybe i can just search around for adding air to the root zone.

What I said was with CO2 augmentation AND air added to the root zone, you can get a plant from 3" clone to 15" tall (& bushy) in 2 weeks.
Without CO2 and added air to the root zone it could take over 3 weeks to get to the same place.
And the point of my thread was that if veg time can be reduced, can flowering?
Maybe a combination of gasses or increased one and decreased another or whatever. If someone could come up with a proven, sure-fire way to drastically reduce flowering time they could get rich by letting people know.

It's easy to add O2 to the root zone. Just use a bubbler ring near the bottom of the planter. hook it up to an air pump, turn it on and leave it on.

Freeda, if people weren't interested in pot for profit, few of us would smoke pot. Cause I'd hazard a guess that EVERYONE here has bought pot before. And there's no illusion of huge profits to be made growing it for profit. It's real, I've done it.
For several years I was part of a small group of clandestine growers and we made $$, more than a little.
And I make no apologies. People who want weed have 2 choices--they can either pay someone for their pot or grow some themselves. If you want some of MY pot it's going to cost you. I spent lots of time and $$ to learn my craft and grow it, plus I took the brunt of the risk. People who bought pot from me deceided they'd rather buy some of mine than grow their own.
The only exception to this would be severly disabled people, and our group always donated to med-mj co-ops and personal friends who couldn't grow.

P.S. I quit growing for profit in '98, although I still donate any excess to other med-mj users who can't grow.

Anyway 1 month from rooted clone is not ever gonna make ya rich if you harvest em, not now and not in the future no matter how much you bread a ultra fast strain. But hey I like Sci-Fi too, so im looking into crossing Weed and a French fry bush and hoping to be able to dig up ready pressed hashish instead of potatos. 2thumbs

Absolutely, since the only way that could ever happen is if pot were legal.
The politicians would still get $$ from the pharmacutical industry and prison guards union and breweries to keep it illegal.
And industrial hemp (which would also become legal if pot was) would impact the timber and textile companies.
Also we'd need less cops, judges, lawyers (reason enough to legalize right there), courthouses, prisons, drug testing labs, and on and on.
