I use Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil and I was wondering if I can reuse that soil (because it's expensive). Can I make a big pile of sifted soil (to get most of the root material out) and then just scoop it into pots for the next grow? Will it be too P and K-hot from having the flowering nutes run through it? I do starve my girls for about the last 3 weeks of flowering.

Hey drumin, I dont use Fox Farms soil but do recycle mine. Instead of siftin for root material tho I take all root balls as they are harvested and toss in a trash bag that then gets put under the bed. Once a week the bag is pulled out and stirred up. The base of the plant and the immediate roots off of that are all I try to remove, after 2-3 months of sitting, the other root bits are gone as well.
Before using it I will normally mix in a small bag of fresh soil (about 25% of the total amount) and a bit of perlite. And a new trash bag comes out for the next round of harvest. That trash bag will collect until whats in my use bin is gone. Been reusing soil like this for a little while and will assume my soil right now is a bastard mix of Sta-Green, Miracle Grow, Humus, black gold, perlite and vermiculite.
But yea, I use that on seedlings or flowering plants alike.
hey bro,
I reuse my FFOF no problem
flush the crap out of it first then sift it. I sometime's use strait used soil and sometimes mix it 50/50 with freash soil.
just remember the goodies will be all gone in the soil so ferts will need to be introduced at an early age ;)
my 14 month old plant is still in the same soil and on reveg #4
peace

dunno that it matters CB, but I have kept one going in a solo cup for 8 months and harvested it 2 times in that period, lol.. never got new soil or anything, just ferts and water. Reveged quick as shit too, took 5 days of 20/4 to see reveg growth.

i use pro-mix and mix fox farms marine cuisine sales man at the store i got it said it's cheeper in the long run i've had the stuff for a little over a year and still have 3/4 of the marine cuisine and going through for the 5th time 2 3.8 cubic foot bags of pro-mix i inbetween usees i let it sit till it dries out useuly but when i'm growing a bunch of clones that flower for lets say 50 days then i grow a differant set of clones that take 70 days then the soil sometimes sits for 20 days which i mix sub-culture in and some hydrated lime in then as i get ready to plant i mix in some big and chunky perlite and some marine cuisine which gets my clones growing good till they are under way in the folwering room i learnt the hard way to only put half as much as the bag says as i had a few dozen still deep dark green at harvest time but since i started useing less around week 6 they start to yellow out
