I had to leave the house for 8 days, and I was worried that my plants would grow into the light and burn (or burn my house down). I wanted the secondary budsites to gain some height anyway, so I 'broke her neck' on the two main branches. I figured that she'd spend the 8 days recovering the injury and the lower branches would do some catching up... win/win! Well.. after reading about 'super cropping' I did so. I suppose I probably got carried away, but whether I did or not I'll never do this again. After 8 days, this is what the injury looks like, (pic 1)
Pic 2 is her in all her splendor.
I did this to her sister too who was a more sativa looking girl, and the wounds were so brown that I chopped her because It looked bad enough to disease.
Is this going to heal? I'm ready to put her into flower now, should I wait until the wound heals better before I do so? Should I bite the bullet and cut her off at the affected area? I'd hate to do that, would lose the two main colas.

Wow...that is a nasty break. You weren't nice about it were you?;)
With a little massaging and rolling, you can lay them over really well...I do it all the time. If you can maybe take a few days or even hours to do it a little at a time...all the better.
I have grabbed one and just bent it, 90 degree angle...never seemed to matter to the plant...but it did not split like your pic.
IMO I would probably cut the branch and veg a couple more weeks...not sure what the best way to approach a break like that is...except bandaid it right after it happens.
Might wanna wait and get a second opinion though, someone will chime in shortly.:smoke1: Maybe that break says something about Potassium?

looks just fine to me..... leave it be and it will be fine ;)
mine do that all the time and produce just fine in the end

Thanks for the reassurance CB, should I wait awhile before flowering?

I thought I was being gentle, maybe I should have 'massaged' a larger area. Regardless, I don't think I'll be trying this again anytime soon.. when my girls feel pain I do too. Maybe I'll work on the technique next time a male invades my garden.

even being gentle this can happen and doesn't really hurt the plant at all
think I have posted pics of it in my GJ long ago....
flower it anytime you want it doesnt really matter much and after 8 days I'm sure it's back to upward growth right?

I bent this one quite a bit. These three pictures are over the course of three days.

Wow..... That gives an increadible sence of what happens in those 3 images. Its amazing the plant becomes that repaired in that short of time.

This video shows them doing what you did G man. I believe this is what you did.
I noticed the fellow says to squeeze it one way then squeeze it the other way to kinda lower the resistance of the stem so it doesn't actually break, but bend.
As you will see it isn't done slowly at all. I noticed the host kinda gets off topic a little bit when he says... hea look at these leaves look how big they are... in my head i was like... dude.. pay attention. he's friggin trying to show you something lmao... anyhoo.. here it is..
Super Cropping.

Is the purpose of doing this to stunt the height or to make the lower colas grow bigger???

i disagree :p the aim is not to break the inner herd.ya just want to soften the tissue...if done right ya plant will be growing upright again within 24 hours,,,then ya just soften it up again.
they will be fine and i have done this a few times myself but the trick is not to split it;)
soften it up with a little pressure and bend it alittle back and forth...if crushed to much then the split will come 9 times out of ten from when it flops over causing a big ol crease...if softened up right it will still flop over but wont crease and less chance of a split occurring.
