I have 5 Blackberry Jam plants, they`ve been above ground for 18 days now under 160 watts of cfl`s about 6" away.
They are in a mix of 2 gals SS organic mix with 1/2 cup castings.
I had to take the heater I had with them elsewhere for a week, and now they look like crap.
It almost looks like a [P] deficiency , but they have never been given any ferts yet, here`s a couple of pics to showthe problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I ain't a dirt feller but i'll give it a shot....
What temps were they subjected too? and ...has the replacement of the heater showed any positive affects?

Thanks for replying Pie.
They really don`t actually look any better ...maybe worse:( can`t figure it out, the nighttime temps were only about 58 to 60 , I did`nt think that was to low.
I was going to give a shot of kelp...foliar style and see what we see.

Do you know pH of soil as it looks like overfed to me a lot of the organic soil maybe hot if so a flush might help good luck!

Thanks for replying reubeni,:D when those pics were taken ,the only ferts they had gotten was the castings in the mix...and that was the problem, they were hungry.:o
I gave them a light kelp foliar spray on 01/23/07, and have since given them a little ,light dose of shit tea, and they look marvelous.:)
I`ll post more pics when I have more time.

what is SS soil? you said organic so i thought that would last about 30 days before feed is needed (like foxfarms)

I think it is that Supersoil stuff at Home Depot.

Morning all
CB- SS soil is Sunshine here`s a pic of the bag...empty now.:( ..lol.
It cotains Spagnum peat moss, perilite,dolomite lime [ for PH adjustment ]and yucca extract as the wetting agent, and I think that the yucca is what makes it organic, alot of soils use manmade wetting agents.

Here`s a pic of the seedling`s ...14 of them altogether
