Purple Rhino

:cool: These beans were gifted to me from a gracious member of another site they are a purple pheno of a white rhino, the plants have been extensively inbred and back-crossed to maximise the purple colouration they are very small right now but already the purple is coming out in em its a great breeding job done for sure, I think the breeder is on his 5th generation now and the purple has become very stable these are f3, gonna do a cross of the PRxC99 .:)

Awesome...a friend had a purple variant of White Rhino that was clone only...one he found from seed. Outdoors it would finish Sept 15th on the nose. Buds were about 50/50 green/purple, stone was respectable, flavor a little acrid. He named it Smoochy. He started to pollinate the lady but unfortunately the mom and all seeds were lost and I miss it...:(. I'm looking forward to your growing these beans out. Nice pheno you have there...;).

Update the 3 PR babes are doing fine and have quite compact nodes they are under 130w of fluoro so they are growing fast.:D

Problems Don't like the new soil I have been using gonna go to the store today to see if they have my favourite coco this new stuff says on the packet for sowing and seedlings but its way too hot.
Never fed the babes but they are suffering neute burns to a few lower leaves not too worried as they seem to be eating the stuff and the new growth is a shade lighter not the over dark green that they were well off to the store:(

That is a very nice looking bud back in the last page. I like purple! I grow lightstorm myself and they are pretty purple as well. I'll see if I can dig a pic up for this post. But, my question is..... What kind of buzz does the PR have or suppose to have?

Oh and another. I am trying a new soil mix for my youngins this grow. I messed around with it a little before but never actually grew with it. I use this soil called Magic Earth, I get it from walmart to tell you the truth. Not many additives in it I seen and the soil is real dark and nice looking. I have grown seeds straight out in it with no issues at all but the soil stays wet a long time. Which would be good for more mature plants but I like my soil to dry quickly when I have seedlings especially when I am trying to keep the humidity up, the soil always stays way wet for a long time. Anyhow, I have some coco stuff for Hydro. It is made by ready-gro. It is the organic soilless whatever, it is coco....... I mix my soil 1/3, the coco 1/3, and then I mix in 1/3 Silica Stone. I looked at the mix last time and threw in another handfull of dirt and broke up some of the bigger silica stone rocks but it is a very good mix from what I have seen so far. Anyways, enough blabbering.....

Hope all works out great with the youngins bro, look forward to seeing some more purple buds.....

Here is an update thew PR babes are in a different area than the rest of the grow so are not affected by the spider mites but I still gave em a spray in case the are filling out quite nicely now.

Just a couple of pics of the PR babes they were getting pretty root-bound so re-potted em today hence the yellowing of a few leaves, they get a lot of side lighting not much from the top so they quite stout little bushes with thick stems:cool:

Well what a difference a day makes ;1 day after the re-pot the leaves of the plants are starting to stand up again and growth has restarted rootbound is not a good thing.:watch:

Well its now confirmed that 2 of the3 PR babes are boys the last 1 is not showing anything yet so I would assume its gonna be a girl, not sure what I am going to do with these guys as I have enough c99 pollen for breeding might just hold on to em until I am decided.;)

Well she has been somewhat ignored but here she is the solo PR girl just re-potted gonna veg her to about 24" she is a straight up girl with very little side branches I reckon you could get a load of plants like this in a very small footprint a bit like buds on sticks:D

Now the PR boy I got rid of the tallest one and kept the shortest; and guess what he has stretched shyte loads on the window sill with5" nodal spacing but I will keep him in a little pot to curtail his height he is very healthy though in a few weeks he will be allowed to fraternise with my last c99 and the only PR girl lucky chap:D

Update the PR lady is doing fine and has just started pushing out pistils she will get a light dusting of PR pollen so I can return to this strain in the future.:cool:

what week of flowering is it in? looking at some of the leaves it looks like it trying to reveg, is this normal growth?

Don't remember when I started her(them)but I reckon about 3 weeks in flower don't look @ that though I think the dirt is a bit rich but I will get that under cont role she is a breeding project in conjunction with the c99 and to preserve the strain(pheno):D

Well here is 1 for the "Plant abuse brigade" she was potted in some soil that she hated right from the beginning not my usual coco and I have not flushed her yet but will do so right away.
She is primarily breeding stock so not too worried about her condition as she is still making beans just thought it would be interesting for peeps to see what shite hot dirt can do to a plant so P.A.B here she is:eek:

ouch! I've done that before as well. It turns out my G13 eats like pig compared to all my other strains. Before I went organic, all my other plants need MUCH weaker ferts, and even now I have to be careful, as the G13 schedule will burn all my other plants, but any less and the g13 would be starving. If I don't give her N, until the last 2 weeks of flower, she drops leaves like crazy.
well I digress, plant still looks alright, I'm sure it'll turn around to some degree.

Yep toked it all me & m8s it has s a deep hashy dank flavour that has favor with peeps that are depressed; not the type of ganja that is get up and go;more couch lock and dream and it is a favorite of the med users not much different than the WR whence it came from as its a sport. the purple genes are regressive so if you cross it no purple in the offspring (well at least not for me yet) but given the nature of genes it could show at any time;)
