hello folks :)

I recently took a rather remarkable photograph of my Tarrantula and thought id share :D
He (I say he because i am allmost positive its a he) is a Peruvian Pink toe Tarantula (Avicularia Urticans), His name is Himmler (destroyer of crickets) and is 6 months old.

I also have a Chaco Golden Knees (Grammostola Aureostriata) which is 4 months old. 'It's' name is Bribe. It's a terrestrial species unlikes Himmler, so lives in underground burrows and such, therefor not very visible.
This pic was taken when it was 2 months old, which was when I saw it last  Not counting the occasional glimpse of the legs pokin out of its burrow lol.

So go on ahead and post pics of your exotic pets and share any cool stories 2thumbs

There are a ton of them pic's I can't remeber the name of they guy who made em, but they are damn cool all of them and very very skilled work he did indeed.

I have been toying around with stuff like Adobe photoshop for almost a decade and im no where near as good as that, but i must be honest and say I have never tryed to morf animals like that :D

cranks you have a nice dog. he looks very patient to endure all your strange affection:lol:

I have a question. I want a tropical critter to suppliment my terrarium. It's about 48" by 18". It's totally planted with impatiens, little ficus, bromiliads etc... I have a branch in there too that I've planted things on. It's under 240w of fluorescent 18/6. I can change the lights but I figure it's pretty healthy as all my plants are doing well. I know some animals need some UV but my spectrum is pretty wide.

I wouldnt recommend a Tarantula Filla...unless u want all your beautiful plants webbed up
I would go with a carnivorous reptile personally, since ull reduce risk of havin the plants chewed also.
What most reptiles need tho IS UV lighting, but that can be easily done with just one UV tube. Not the purple ones, but the ones meant for reptiles.
A snake (preferably strangler) would be nice.
The King Snake comes in various colors and morphs, and is defenatley a good starter snake.

But you can also consider lizzards and skinks...
They too are easy to look after, but Skinks tend to need more attention if they are to be kept tame.
A nice example of a Lizzard is an Emerald Swift

And for skink, it will have to be a blue tongued Skink, they are Classic!

All the example I've mentioned will be appropriate for your tank size, and are known to be plant friendly.

Hope this helps bro.

Sorry Cel but most lizards and spiders creep me out. Maybe an anole or a skink would be nice:D King snakes and milk snakes are very pretty but I'm not sure if I have the room. Remember, this is a 100% humidity ecosystem:D

I'll ask around @ the pet store. Time for the internet to do it's job:p
