I will be making the bags tomorrow and hopefully doing my first round of bubble hash tomorrow. I have heard that this is the best thing to do with moldy buds.
I have about 6 ounces of bud and a half pound of good leaves that will be run through.
what is the process for getting the mold gone?

i think you can just chuck everything in and not worry about the mold.
make sure you do every step very thororoughly and you should do okay, it seems to me like repeating some of the bubblebag steps could be interesting.

we did an entire grow of moldy bud too. worked out pretty good. hash was good, but I would have rather had the bud, but what you gonna do...

if you see any pieces with EXTREME mold...chuck that...but in general small amounts are fine to just throw in :cool:

I had thought that you had to skim the mold off the top once it was all chopped up but i guess i was mistaken.
I got all 3 bags sewn up tonight and will be going to big lots for a hand mixer in the morning.
hopefully I should end up with something smokeable, even though I can't smoke for a little bit. I have never had any bubble has either!
If it is decent enough I will throw down on a real set of bags, if not i'm only out about 20 bucks and a few hours.:D

we have made a lot of very good hash just using trim... but the fact that you can make good hash out of moldy weed is the best...

BHO is the only safe way to extract the oils we love from moldy mj. Which is of course an oximoron because BHO can go BOOM if not done right!

My opinion is that while the mold itself may not make it into the hash, just like marijuana contains many different compounds, mold, and fungus do as well, and its possible that something in the mold could be extracted into the hash.
Hash has as unique smell, that can often be traced to the plant it came from, which shows that terpinoids, from that plant made it through the extraction. This likely shows that terpnoids (along with other things) from material other than cannabis may also end up in the extract.

but I have been able to smoke bubble hash made with moldy marijuana & not get sick... I do agree with Ldy discard any bud that is extremely moldy, but you can get good hash from moldy marijuana.

Yeah it's been a while everyone... but I had to reply to this.
You will have some residual "smell" of the fungus or mold in the bubble
but it is suggested to "skim off" the top after the stir. The actual Trics will fall to the bottom which can be collected.
It has never made me sick in any way.
My small 7 bag set is what I use for all of my needs...
And I stir in a 5 gallon bucket leaving it sit for 30-45 min then pour off the
"1st run"---remember to keep record and separate each run. This may take a few days if you really want to "recycle". Just remember to keep what's left in the 5 gallon ON ICE.

It is Not Reccomended To Make Any Cannabis Extracts From Mouldy Cannabis Unless It Is Without Water.
Of Course Ether Is The best Choice if You Can Source It, But Everclear Alcohol ( U.S.A ) Or Isoproprynol Alcohol ( Advanced Nutrients Do A 90+% Version, Compared To 8% At The Chemists ( Aqueous )

ya don't smoke mold... I know some do bubble bag it and skim off the top but why even risk it:)
toss the moldy chit out to the worms;)
