I wanted to ask everyone what they thought of SK. We know that the press say and what the apparently professional medical brigade think, but your views count.

My personal view is it smells far too much for a true stoner. When I first passed a doobie to a bro who has seemed my main family for 20 years, he thought cause it didn't smell like SK it was sub-grade shite. :D
Needless to say he now has a better understanding.... that smelling like an animal has pissed in your pants ain't no gauge for what the shite is like.

I don't like it. The prize mom has been binned cause I just don't like its smell and the lack of wanting to do shit when smoking it. Yep its choice, but the world would be a far better stage for legalisation if SK was dropped. Too much energy is spent by the goverment to pin point SK as the N01 Criminal cannabis in the UK. Fuck it. Lets do away with it?

i think when it comes to the general public,skunk is a term used when there talking about buds and not hash.before i started growing thats what i used to call any form of bud....me and me dad would say"aye,,,i got a great bit of skunk here" but not knowing what the fuck the strain was.

basically there saying that skunk/cannabis is way stronger than it was say in the 60's and 70's and this is MEANT to be turning peeps into psychos and shit..they been saying it for years now.

you can get rid of the strain skunk but cannabis will always be called skunk in the UK unless peeps are educated.

as far as my sk1 go's....its a great smoke,great smell,and a real strong smoke but it also the weakest strain i have.

Yeah, I can't imagine the government would know enough to pin-point a specific strain.

Skunk #1 like Cranky said is a great smoke and has a great smell. I have had a few harvests of it & like any other weed if you wait for a ripe harvest you'll have yer arse plastered to the couch with your mouth wide open drooling out stupid thoughts... An early harvest is what I go for (usually around the 55 day mark) purely for the cerebral high.

Now, back to this tit thing... Is there anything to it or do I have genetics to blame?

we talking about "skunk" as in the strain or simply skunky smelling weed? I've had lots of different weed that smells skunky, but isn't the strain skunk.
I personally have to TRY the differentiate bettween types of highs from strain to strain, and generally unless its a pure, or almost pure sativa i really don't get any speedier types of effects.
I'm sure everyones different though.

i think most people under rate skunk#1 evan sensi say's it is mediocer with the mother i got blows any other strain away that i have grown the mother i got has more of a fruity smell and flavor not at all skunky. and in my experiance most people think any type of weed that has an overpowering smell they call skunk

I think its location too. Nobody gives a shit about skunk around here. like ice said most people I meet think skunk is not so potent. where I used to live it was all about the purple...In my opinion there's just a wide variation of potency throughout the board, and also a wide variation in the types of THC present in the buds. skunk is a multiple hybrid coming from all over the world so its likely to to show some variation.

First I want to thank each one of you for your remarks.
Round this way, Skunk means just that, Skunk. If you can smell it through a ziplock its Skunk and its what people here still think is the dogs danglies of mj. I agree with you all and as I mentioned in the header, its only when people have a puff on alternative strains that they understand SK isn't the ultimate weed it once was.
You also pointed out that SK has been bred down to many many srains so although we can't smell that late 80s SK stink, its there in the genes helping the whole genetic kick, kick.
Its the smell that bothers me on a public scale. I often smell young uns smoking it in towns and on at least two occasions have smelt it on persons, but why if the strain is old hat? Why risk being caught if a carrier and why bother yourself with the extra concern when considering extraction as a grower?

Don't get me wrong ya all, I'm no anti mj but my feelings towards SK is getting harsher the more peopkle I smell with it and the more I smell it on my clothes when leaving the grow room.
Hell, I've even found one that's hermied on me. Bastards! :p
