i did better than the "ohoh i got something in my eye trick" i ended up having a full blown argument with the deputy manager and walked out:eek: .so,as i had steam comin out of my ears and fire blowing out of my arse,i hit the nearest pub.(just for the one like:D ).

basically i was asked to operate one of these (below) when i dont have a license.so the guy started showing me up in front of customers and other staff so i neally twated him but instead gave him a load of verbal and acted like banana and split.

yo yo all:D

how we all doing????sorry i ain't updated peeps but better late than never aye;)

right sooooo...seedlings have been vegging 3 weeks now and should be about 12 inch tall but their still only 4-6.this is partly my fault:o as Ive still got um in tiny 2 inch pots and i also had probs with Ph and let um dry out to much on 2 occasions:rolleyes: .i will repot the lot this week.all will go into their final size pots...2.5 gals:cool:

had same probs on the clones also but that wasn't as bad.before, when adding bio bizz nutes to rain water or tap the Ph always sat about 6.4-6.6 ish.now me rain waters Ph is 6.9 to 7.1,after adding nutes it drops to about 5.7-5.9:eek:

so,they got a couple of feeds with real low Ph and 2 droughts.now im on top of the Ph I'm hoping all will go smoothly.fingers crossed aye:)

I'm also finding that after breaking a few necks(supercropping) on the bubblegum clones right on the node area, its making the plant go polyploid or whatever the spelling is?

after breaking/crushing,the stem went flat and stayed that way and is now exploding at the top.like topping itself(not surprised after what Ive put um through lol)

yo yo all,

i got round to re-potting in the end but i didn't go into final size as i didn't have enough soil,so i just re-potted the seedlings into 4 x 4 from 2 x 2 pots.

i was having a prob with them yellowing up on me.i thoughts its from the early waterings where the Ph was real low and i thought that maybe MG and N were locked out due to to much Ca?

so,i made a foiler feed up of :

Epsom salts(3/8ths teaspoon per 1ltr water)

0.5 ml budlink(silica/wetting agent)

2ml nytrozyme

they've had a afew sprayings now and this seems to be doing the trick.heres a pic of a leaf showing mg def before and after shots;) notice the leaf curling nearly gone on the second pic:)

until Ive got the soil Ph stable ill keep using this.

the clones are doing ok...they were showing the same signs as the seedlings but again, the foiler feed seems to be sorting that and they are alittle small for the amount of time they have been vegging but this is down to the pot size...im trying to get the seedlings to catch up abit before 12/12 like.

and all the blueberry clones that i have been supper cropping have topped themselves FIM style.:D pretty funky i think:cool:

What is FIM?

Lungus
12-16-2006, 09:29 PM
Fimming is when the top node of a plant is pinched to leave 20% of the node behind. Out of this small piece of node 3,4, maybe 6 new tops may start to grow, producing more colas.

Trailer Park Boy
12-16-2006, 09:37 PM
i think this is from OGFAQ? not sure.

http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=7847&stc=1&d=1166329998

The idea is to trim the very tip at the newest young node and leave behind just a tiny bit of plant material. hormones in the growing tip cause it to grow our up to 8 tops!! I've gotten six many times, but always at least four.

aye up all,I'm back after the ol visit back to see the folks for new years and things are ok i guess.

i say i guess because,i had about 1 1/2 hours to re-pot 16 plants, pack all my shit, and other odds n sods which left me no time to Ph my water.

so the Ph would of been pretty low but they seem fine 6 days later.they are starting to show some signs of Ph probs but ill sort that during the next week and i will also foiler feed abit of mg,fish mix,and budlink which should keep um kinda happy until the Ph in the soil is corrected.

Ive also fired up the ol 400w hps in air cooled hood with my new 100ml ruck fan and boy am i happy with this fan.i used to use a cooker extractor thing which did the job ok,that used to keep temps about 82f but this baby after 6 hours of being on the temps are even lower than what they were when using the 3 x 4 ft flouros and 125w envirolite in there...was always about 78ish now its smack on 75.i could also have my light sitting on top of the plants as theres no heat penetrating the glass at all but then i wouldn't be ably to cover the whole grow with he light.

I'm sucking cool air in from the loft and straight into my hood and from there into my grow cab.

tomorrow i may switch the flow round to see how well it does as my ol man has given me his carbon scrubber to me as well as the fan I'm on about above so i can get rid of a few smells but if it wont work as well then ill just attach the cooker hood thingy to it and that should be ok...if not then it will be another ruck fan.

Shyte that lamp is old, how long you had that; now if your name was CB I would understand:D but on a serious note you should keep a log of how many hours the lamp is run for as with age they loose a lot of lumen's if they say the lamp is good for 20,000 hours dump it at 15,000 your plants will appreciate it.;)

well, the lamps were given to me by me pal,so not sure on age but i know this one I'm using is new...i plugged in that other bulb and its fucked i guess....just wont ignite so thats the end of that...

thanks for the info guys;)

not much to report,
its day 5 of flower and the stretch is on....they ain't had any feed since the transplant as the soils still wet from transplanting which was 10 days ago now:eek:

reckon they go another 3 again.....shocking i know but the plants haven't showed any signs of over watering but i was still worried so i popped 1 or 2 out of their pots and the roots have come through to the bottom and are nice n white real healthy looking so i guess things are cool with that.

just as i was going away over new years i didn't want um to dry out on me so i gave um 2 ltrs each of plain ol ph'ed water....i guess having my temps this low, 77 max and 66 min also is making a diff as in the past its normally at 80-84f but this new fan really is the dogs whatsits.

Here is a bit of info this runs true with all lamps but more so with discharge types.

Blackening at Ends of Fluorescent Tubes
This is a common phenomenon with most common fluorescent tubes as they age. However, frequent or repeated starting can accelerate the process. The black areas in themselves don't affect operation except to slightly reduce the amount of light available since the phosphor in that area is dead. However, they do represent a loss of metal from the electrodes (filaments).

The cause is sputtering from the filaments, mostly when cold. Thus. this happens mostly when starting or with a defective rapid start ballast which doesn't heat the filament(s) or a ballast or starter that continuously cycles. When the filament is cold and is the cathode (on the negative half of the AC cycle for that end of the tube), the work function is higher and ions have a higher velocity when impacting, knocking off metal atoms in the process. This is greatly reduced once the filament is up to normal operating temperature (though even then, some sputtering is inevitable).

In conclusion if the ballast gear contains a ignitor or starter in the circuit it maybe wise to replace it to counteract this problem.

cheers guys....

well,,,life aint so great again at the cranky household and seeing my crops go down the pan all the time is killin me.

this time ive lost all my strains that ive bread in the past and its to soul destroying to watch this happen all the time so im knockin the whole growing thing on the head for the time being.

it was basicly the one thing i had left that my wife allowed me to do and now it seems i cant even do that...ive also had to stop playing my tunes on the net(dj'ing)as my wife seems to think that im chatting up chicks and shit whilst djing???

im gonna be away for awhile as my lifes pretty fucked up at the mo and i need to get things sorted...this is the main reason why i havent been posting much the last few months...i will check in from time to time but i just aint got the head on to post.

sorry all and you all take care
