I need a good K source for my soil mix. I could not find 'greensand' anywhere, and instead found a product called 'algamin'.

Algamin 1-0-2
Kelp Meal Fertilizer

Algamin Kelp Meal is a rich organic source of nitrogen and potassium. Algamin is fresh-cut Norwegian seaweed slowly, mechanically dried, cleaned, desalted and ground into dust-free meal.

It also contains the trace minerals important to good plant health, such as calcium, magnesium, sulfur, vitamins, amino acids plus plant hormones. Algamin Kelp Meal works well for both indoor and outdoor gardening.

If anyone has any information, suggestions, reccomendations, or warnings regarding this product I would be very greatful to hear them.

The name does sound similar.

Although..
Alg-A-Mic is een biostimulator op basis van koudgeperste, geconcentreerde zeewieren, met daardoor een extreem hoog gehalte aan sporenelementen, plantaardige hormonen, aminozuren en vitamines.
.. I can't really make heads or tails of that.

ALG-A-MICŪ:

A vitality booster made with cold pressed concentrated Norwegian seaweed; hence it's extremely high content of trace elements and hormones of vegetable origin. Natural amino acids and vitamins are also added catering to the whole spectrum of the plants needs. Alg-A-Mic can be taken in by the leaves through means of sprayers as well as with water directly to the roots promoting vigorous green growth. Healthy plants are also less likely to suffer from deficiency diseases and temperature fluctuations. Alg-A-Mic may be used in all stages of growth and bloom.

I've used this version of Algamin Kelp (http://www.groworganic.com/item_F1308_AlgaminKelpGallon.html) for years with sucess. I wouldn't count on it as your sole source of potassium though. If you need a good organic K source check out sulphate of potash 0-0-50 (http://www.groworganic.com/item_F2300_SulfateofPotashUltrafinesDiamond.html)
