I gotta couple Q's here. I've never been too successful with cloning but finally have gotten better than 40% success (80%, woo hoo!) thanks to buying a heating pad and much reading up on cloning on this site. (thanks cranky! great guide)

But... its been 2 1/2 weeks now and roots are poking out the sides, and i was wondering if i should keep the lid off for longer than a few min. a day.

Also should i transplant now? Should I cover them with some lid for a while when transplanting, or are they good to go?
thanks
jj

probably good to go man.

two and a half weeks is more than enough time to keep the dome on.

roots is what you're looking for when cloning, i say go for the transplant.. and ditch the dome. :p

I tried willow water, then I tried plain water, then I built a little bubbler. None of them worked for me but when I got jiffy pellets... DING!

Anyway, once you got roots you're good to go.

Cranky, why do you transplant so much? I thought it's best to transplant as few times as possible. Why not into the 4x4 and then the final pot after that?

got to goto work so short and sweet.

basicly bro ya want a big ol root ball.i find that when ya go from small to large pots the roots grow down and then out and i find that not all of the soil is used up(like most of the root system is on the outer side of the soil and not so much in the middle).standard practice in the gardening world like;)

right...goto run.
