There was a thread around somewhere talking about using square grow bags but I can't find it and I searched using the word "bag" without success. Who's using them, and where'd ya get'em? Tanx. :cya:

I got some from my local hydro shop. They are very affordable (maybe $0.25)and can hold one gallon of dirt. Great for a SOG.

I'm using them this time around, first time. i'd reccomend them. They're taller than they are wide, so they don't take up as much room as pots do.
The 1 gallon grow bags are more rectangular. But 2 and up are square. I'm using the 2 gallon grow bags, and they are only like.. 7-8 inches in diameter.

um.. no problems to speak of. you can hardly tell, but i used some duct tape around the top for support. not sure of the necessity of that. One thing is for sure, if you're going to use tape, its easier to do it when theres no dirt in the bag. ;)
and oh yeah, got 'em at the hydro store. any hydro website should have 'em though.

Thanks guys, I saw some on line that were a bit more heavy duty and had handles... Are the ones you use pretty sturdy?

Handles might be pretty neat.
But yes, they're sturdy. Very easy to manage.

The best thing I like about the grow bags when I use them is that they're great for holding moisture in the root zone for a period of time where I may or could overwater.
The weight of the bag after a deep watering to a dry bag are my measuring points for the need of watering.

I just transplanted my White Widow babes into the 5 gallon grow bags. So far so good.

You can pick them up on ebay for cheap. I liked the 1/2G when I did SOG...but now I am only using the 1 & 2 Gallon bags with good success. They are reuseable also. I like them alot more than pots. They don't take up any storage room when not in use either.

i use the 2.5 gal size, got them for 10 cents a piece so i picked up 100 last time i was at the grow shop. I like them becuase they fit so closely together. no lost space from the round pots that you normally have.
