this is a pic of one of my viet x vietblack plants. They are all outdoors and in the ground, i just fed them some fox farm tiget bloom, about 2 spoonsfull per 3 gallons, and it seems all of them are starting to get these white spots, one plant is already covered.

what is it, and what can i do about it?

will it kill my plants, or lower yield?

That's my feeling exactly; sure looks like mites. Get a mag-glass and take a good look under those leaves I think you will find the mini-beasties hangin' around there.

it happend soon after feeding like 2-3 days, and like i say the whole plant is covered excpet for the newest growth, other plants its just spots on a few leaves ill get some better shots up here soon. thanks alot for the input.

could it be spoiled food maybe?

my indoor grow recently started lookin the same way after addin nutes

i looked under the leaves and notices some little red and black dots and they are not aphids, alot smaller i think you are right and they are mites

yeah, we have an old guerilla saying that goes:

"bugs have good taste!"

LoL! They often times select prime genetics as their fav.

Mites are also little stress-borometers, as you say they really started showing themselves huge after feedings. Mites love nothing more than a stressed plant, so perhaps you are nuking them a tad with your dosages and the mites are responding to the plant's defences being lowered. 100% healthy unstressed plants of sound genetic make-up can normally fend off mite attacks never letting them really get a good foot-hold in my experience.

Re-evaluate your feeding ratios and my advice would be to lower the dosages and don't do anything to stress them out while dealing with these little bastards, especially don't let the plants get too dried out now, that's like painting a bullseye on them broham!

Good luck mang, you should be able to handle them alright with the avid and lowered stress levels mi amigo! :gthumb:

thanks guys, the bugs must have some good taste, the covered all the viets:mad: the bugs look dead today hopeflly the plants recover nicley.

what will happen to these damaged leaves will they all fall off?

im thinkin to keep the plants clean should i spray them down with like soap/water like every other day or so at night to kill the bugs. ow what should i do? i wanna try to use AVID as little as possible.

thanks;)

one thurough dose of avid should break their life cycle.

like rolanterroy said focus on the plants overall health and a preventative program. Soap and or neem oil is a good idea on a weekly or bi weekly basis.

toke it easy :smokin:

A sucking insect feeds on plant fluids and injects toxins
into the plant. The toxins can cause leaf spotting or stippling.(like white powdery shite on ya leaves)

wish i was about sooner bro:( its the first tell tail sign for mites.

just checked mine...alls cool here;)

always good to give ya plants a look over once aweek.;)

hope ya get um mate

ye i still see tons of red specks on the undersides, whats the best method to wash these things off, the plants are starting to bud now and i cant let them go to shit now, most look about a week or two into bud:D

good thing is only a few are as bad as that pic with the leaves like totally spotted white on top, but others have leaves with little patches of white specks and red bastards on the underside.

i also just hosed the shit off of the plants with most mites.
